WD-52725 Picture Quality Problem

We've had this WD-52725 TV for about 8 years and it still works fine, but the picture quality has deteriorated lately. We're seeing faint green lines (slightly off from horizontal, about an inch or so apart) that pulse on the screen in an alternating pattern every couple seconds. The picture is also not as "crisp" as it used to be (not sure how else to describe it). I've replaced the cables with no effect. Other than cleaning the air filter, no maintenance has ever been done on it. Any ideas what could be causing the problem?

Sounds like a possible issue with the Optical light engine itself.

SOURCE: WD-52525 screen is jumping all around with wavy horizontal lines etc.

Good Day;

Keep talking to the factory, it is their product. Best Buy won't replace unless it is deemed not repairable and/or terms of the contract. You purchased the extra warranty because you most have felt that the TV might break down. Well, it did, now use the contract to repair your TV.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

I believe the format, or FMT board is going bad. this is not a do it yourselfer type repair, unless you have extensive electronics background - I have one myself with the same problem. I am waiting to get a new FMT board for mine.

Amp transmitting fuzzy picture

It could be dirty contacts, corroded connectors inside, or dirty from atmospheric pollution or even dust.

Other degradation may result from a solder joint developing corrosion now, or a diode getting leaky.

It is repairable, but it is a time investment.

Trying to get cables to fit hdmi 8, and input 2, 3, 4, etc

The first thing is Picture and sound quality are only slightly better with Hdmi.

The real advantage is They sell expensive HDMI cables and instead of 5 cables when using component you only need one.

I have looked at identical sets side with one HDMI and the other component and could not see any difference in quality.

The cables almost never come with the set as they want to sell you a group of expensive add on's.

Years ago when I worked for Circuit City they would joke they make more money selling a set of cables and other junk than they did selling a big tv.

Replacement lamp not bright

as i previously posted, my picture was dim, muddy looking after replacing lamp with osram lamp. i fixed mine by taking the screen off and cleaning the small mirror. it had a thick layer of dust on it, cleaned with a microfiber cloth. no water, no glass cleaners. i also used a very fine new small paint brush and dusted the projector lens which also had a dust film. brightness, contrast and clarity returned!

Mitsubishi wd 52725 lamp troubles

You can use Mitsubishi 915p020010 or Osram E023. Remove the front and clean the lense using only a clean microfiber cloth. dirty lense main cause of dark picture. The lamp could be incorrect wattage.
