SOURCE: Magic Chef Gas Range

Does this oven glows before igniting the gas in the oven? if it does this unit uses a glow bar ignitor in the oven and spark module for the top burners. If it you dont see the spark( or hear the ticking sound the there will be no ignition. Do you smell gas even if there was no ignition happening? If there's gas that eliminate your gas regulator. If it's only one burner with spark but gas won't come on then your gas valve is deffective. But if there's gas and no spark ten it could be poor grounding, wiring, connection or switch or even spark module problem. You to need call your local Appliance service provider on this one. I do not recommend anyone fixing gas related problem if they are not a qualified servicer.

SOURCE: need part number for lower heating element in a JBP26 oven

That doesn't appear to be a complete serial number. You can go to repairclinic.com and click on repair help, or go straight to this page: http://www.repairclinic.com/0089.asp?apptype=13
to find the correct serial number.

My magic chef stove model#31100paw oven will not heat up but all four stove burners are working just fin.what is going on?

This oven and range work from two separate regulators and it sounds like the one for the oven has failed. Have it replaced and that should get you going again. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a magic chef range/oven. For the last few months, it has taken longer and longer for the oven to heat up to temp. Now it won't get more than 90 degrees or so. What is the problem??

Turn off the power to the range. Remove the bake element from inside the oven. Be careful not to let the wires go back into the oven cavity. Take a volt/ohm meter set for ohms or continuity and test the bake element leads. If you get no reading replace the element. If you do get a reading, replace the temperature sensor in the oven.

Magic chef electric fee standing range model 35ja-26x

Sounds like a shorted element. This can happen if the element shorts to ground near the middle of the element. Current will then flow from the unswitched side of 240 VAC to nuetral or ground, heating up the same as if on 240 VAC.

is the element still in one piece and mostly smooth to the touch? if you find any part of the element very rough where it looks like it actually melted then you've found your problem. post an update if this doesn't solve the problem.
