Just replaced the power cord, you can buy wire and plug then assembled it to the iron and replaced the old power cord which may cause of shut off.

SOURCE: iron not staying on

This is a problem with a lot of Rowenta irons. It is the auto shut off that is not working properly and the only way to fix it is to have it disassembled and the switch hardwired to be on whenever the iron it plugged in. It is a thermal metal switch and it just stops working and then the iron will not turn on and the yellow light blinks.

I have a rowenta proffesional luxe iron but the cable keeps turning it off so when i move the cable it goes back on and when i am ironing it shuts off

you have a open circuit that occurs due to a wire loose at the plug end or a loose connection within the iron. a break in the cable will also display the systems you discribe. check for loose connections before you decide to replace the cable. by keeping the cable stationery when the iron is on at the plug end check wether it switches off when you move the cable near the plug end.if it switches off the loose wire is in the plug if it does not the try the moving the cable nearer the Iron end.

The electrical cord seems to have come loose near the iron itself causing the iron to shut off. is this a known problem & how do you fix it?

This has been happening since the first cord was attached to the first electric iron. The cord takes a beating. You will have to disassemble the handle and fix it ... or get a replacement.

Rowenta dx6700

The wire inside the cord is likely torn ant it connects and disconnects as it is moved back and forth. This happened to me too. I just need to find where to get a new cord.
