I am totally lost!! All I have is the lambda lexicon and cubase LE4 on my desktop.Apparently it is not set up correctly. I want to record guitar and voice I have sound on lambda through mike and guitar but...

All it needs is a USB connection. You'll need to go into Cubase device setup and make sure your lambda drivers are selected. Then create the audio channels in cubase with the inputs set as the inputs you're using for guitar and mic. There is a monitor button right next to the record enable button that needs to be enabled if you want to hear playback from your computer.

Good luck!

I cant install the software that comes with the product. should i download something else online? Sorry, im new with recordings.

Make sure you have Administrative privileges to install software, in the User account settings. you can download Ableton live lite here. I always used Fruity Loops to record, it takes a little time to understand how the software works but it's really intricate, great software to record music and you should be able to use this hardware with it.

Here are system requirements:

Compatibility
ASIO 2
MME
Sound Manager
DirectX
Mac OS X Core Audio / Core MIDI

Minimum System Requirements (PC)
Windows 98SE / Me / 2000 (SP4) / XP (SP2)*
Pentium II 350 w/ 64MB RAM
* Home and Professional Edition only. Windows Media Center Edition is not supported.
** M-Audio suggests you also check the minimum system requirements for your software, as they may be greater than the above.

Minimum System Requirements (Mac)
G3* 300MHz/G4* 350MHz
OS 9.2.2, 64MB RAM;
OS X 10.2.6, 10.3.6, 10.4, 10.5.1 w/ 128MB RAM**
* native USB port required; G3/G4 accelerator cards not supported
** M-Audio suggests you also check the minimum system requirements for your software, as they may be greater than the above.

Getting mic setup thru cubase le 4

Make sure phantom power is enabled on the Tascam audio interface and you must enable the input in cubase that corresponds with the interface input on the track you are trying to record to.

I cant find the sound recorder icon on my computer

That's because it's not there. Windows does not install this icon. If you want it, click on "Start" (lower left corner of your screen), then select "programs", then "accessories", then "entertainment" then right click on "sound recorder" and chose "send to desktop". You will then have an icon for the sound recorder.

It says I can not record pick the asio duplex but i don't know how

What recording software are you using? What version of Windows are you on? The ASIO driver for the Lambda should have been installed when you loaded the software that it came with, and if so there should be a control panel that will allow you to select that. The other option is to use ASIO4ALL. It is a free ASIO driver that works really well for most sound cards and software instruments and recording software like Cubase, Nuendo or the many other programmes out there.
If you need more help let me know.

Cheers.
