First remove the four screws behind the stand mount on the monitor. Then turn monitor vertically so thet the bottom is up. Next look for slots betweem the portions of the srame on the bottom. Use a slotted screw driver to pry open the bottom. Becareful to not damage the plastic. As bottom is opening pry around the entire frame it will come loose. Make sure you place the monitor on a table covered with a towel in the final process to un clip the case.

Dell 2001 fp monitor has 2 blue horizontsl line on left side of screen and sometimes become white block

This not good! the problem is in the LCD panel display, and there is no way to repair this on a practical scale, this would not be a cost effective repair, far cheaper to replace the monitor.

I have a 4.5" black strip running down my 2001 fp monitor screen. What do I need to correct it.

Note: Soundbar Power Connector - 12V DC output is for optional Dell Soundbar only. .
DO NOT USE WITH ANY DEVICE OTHER THAN DELL SOUNDBAR.
  1. Working from the rear of the monitor, attach Soundbar by aligning the two slots with the two tabs along the bottom rear of the monitor.
  2. Slide the Soundbar to the left until it snaps into the place.
  3. Insert the black DC plug from the power cable at the back of the Soundbar into the DC Jack on the back of the Flat Panel Monitor.
  4. Insert the lime green mini stereo plug from the rear of the Soundbar into the Computer's audio output jack.

Yellow line

It sounds like a hardware problem ,if it still has warranty then you should return it.
It could also be a faulty vga card the only way to test would be to connect monitor to another computer.

Dell 2001FP Monitor Problem

I have seen many of these. It appears the video processor board is dying or dead. You can replace the board or the monitor.

This is the board. Not to hard to replace if you have some tech ability.

Dell 2001FP

Chances are the driver tabs inside from the panel to the internal controller board have failed. This is the actual controller board that the internal video card connects to (hidden under the silver cover on the back of the physical panel).
It is not a cheap repair, and it is normally best to source another panel, or just replace the monitor all together.
