Palm Zire 31 won't stay on

After syncing my Palm to my Macintosh I can't get it to come on. I can reset it and it come on for a few seconds, then shuts off. I also sync (bluetooth) my iPod touch to the same computer and think this has something to do with it. I tried a different computer also, but it still won't stay on. Did I fry it?

I don't believe that the Palm desktop manager is compatible with Ipod. Unless you have your contacts associated with Microsoft Outlook, that should work.

You can create a new profile and set your options again. It's more work but it will solve the problem.

Side note: I use a great program called eWallet from iliumsoft that supports Palm, iPhone, Windows Mobile, and more to store passwords in. Works great.

Reinstall Palm Desktop and or update it.

my palm zire 31 is frozen...i can not turn it off...i can not navigate any where on it.....please help

No, only if you synchronized with another device beforehand. Using Palm Desktop, eg, you could synchronize and get the list back.

How do i perform a hard reset on my palm pda

Step 1 Straighten a paper clip into a single line.
Step 2 Locate the "Reset" button by spotting a small hole on the backside of the Palm Zire 31.
Step 3 Push the power button on the Palm Zire 31 with your finger and hold it down steadily.
Step 4 Push the paper clip into the "Reset" button's hole while holding down the power button.
Step 5 Release the power button once the screen displays the "Palm Powered" logo.
Step 6 Push the navigational key in the "Up" direction to complete the Palm Zire 31 hard reset.

How to sync palm data with Itouch? I have all my contacts & calendar on my Palm Zire. How can I get the same data over to my I touch in a Windows XP environment ?

You can sync to Outlook on the PC and then get the Outlook data onto the iTouch. If you have a newer PDA, It's install CD has a Sync options menu item where you can switch between Palm Desktop and Outlook. If you no longer have the original install CD or have an older device Pocket, Copy from Chapura.com It will move the Palm Desktop records to Outlook.

New computer running Vista won't recognize Zire 31-no driver?

Have you installed PalmDesktop to your new computer yet?

There is no Windows driver for the Zire 31, but you will need Palm Desktop before you can sync.

I still have a Zire 31 in a box in the garage, and I'm happy to dig things off of the CD if you need anything, just use "add comment" in the top right corner there.

How do I make a hard reset on my Palm Zire 31 PDA?

I did not write the posting attributed to me. I have a Palm Tungsten E. My Dad had been using it and I needed to know how to do a hard reset so it would accept my info. I found that on the Palm site after looking on your site. I performed the hard reset and hot synced the Palm with my info.

ideas:
Restart your computer,
Try a different data cable,
And last resort:
Give up on it.

(If you do give up, send it to me i need a new screen.)

How do I make a hard reset on my Palm Zire 31 PDA?

There is a reset pin hole on the back of the unit; Hold the power button and push the reset button in the hole with a paperclip. All memory should now be erased.
