PATA port can run my Hard drive only but DVD ROM is not responding. Why?

I changed the cable several time but when I plugged the three ports in three channel its not working. But when I try to run either DVD ROM or HARD drive then its working. Is it a problem of the cable or mother board.

Try refreshing all connections to the motherboard. Also clean the RAM as shown in the image below.cfaa97e.jpg
Resetting the CMOS may also help you in the process. Make sure that the power cable connected to the power supply is disconnected. Change the jumper settings of JCMOS1 (labled 1) from 1-2 to 2-3 for approximately 10secs. (refer to the image below).

Then return to original settings (1-2). Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a Biostar TF715OU-M7

As far as your board being compatible I think you should be ok.
The BIOSTAR.COM website does show support for Vista 32/64,
but not windows 7. I would still attempt it.
Any driver windows 7 cant handle might be covered with a driver for Vista from biostar or found on the web as a fix.
there is a chance that it wont work though, maybe an important driver just wont work (doubtful but there is a chance).
If you Click the Blue "Manual" Tab on this page you will see a prompt to download "N73UA-M7T_N73PA-M7T_080104_B.exe"
I just downloaded it and extracted the files from the .exe file and it contained Two PDF files one 61 page motherboard manual and a 42 page bios manual.
On the driver tab you can find a driver for your IDE chipset top of the page you'll have to try the vista one.
http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/driver.php?S_ID=305
My Norton NIS 2011 said the exe was clean.
If you right click the exe after it's downloaded you might be able to choose extract files {where you choose} and then you won't have to run the exe.
I use 7zip here http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. It will handle all your zipping and unzipping and its free.
But I did run the exe for the manuals just to confirm I wasn't sending you bad links. no problems, it just created the folder in the same folder it was in.

Let me know it this helped you or not.
Post your answers as a comment or reply and I'll be notified.
Cheers

SOURCE: My mother board is not

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they are probably faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

My dvd multi player rw combo compact disc rewritable how to add programs in dvd cd

Robert Ashworth wants answers to this question
google how to BURN DVD-R? DISC.
that m522 is and old RELIC PRE 2001 YEAR, DRIVE, WITH NO SATA PORT, IDE (PATA) ONLY And will never work in any PC lacking PATA ports, 2001 and newer PCs. no way.

endless web sites cover this, (how to burn)
NO PC stated, nor OS but here is generic answer.

.(PC's AC power cable unplugged)
1: insert DVD m522 drive in to chassis., connect power cable and PATA Ribbon cable next
2: power on PC and see modern windows fail to see this device.
it is not supported this old. unless XP or Vista OS is used.
XP and VISTA have zero support now,. and XP is virus magnet.
3: then insert the DVD-R into the tray and close the tray.
label side UP.
4: then run Imgburn.exe (free program.
5: burn anything you want but will not burn stolen, or RIPPed movies.
you can say backup 1000s of office files in a directory folder full o f files to the DVD-R disk, it does a great job backing up files.

Sir my problem is that my SATA hard disk not detected by system. Also when i detect the SATA/IDE hard disk system hang, and nothing happen. But that time keyboard not hang. My SATA ports work...

Each PATA device (disk-drive or CD/DVD) drive has some small jumpers.

For the two devices connected via the one ribbon-cable,
set the jumpers on one device to the MA(ster) setting,
and set the other device to the SL(ave) setting.

Or, set both devices on the one cable to the C(able)S(elect) setting.

When properly set, both devices will be quickly and properly detected.

Be sure that your BIOS SETUP has been configured to allow SATA devices,
i.e., not set to "disabled" mode.

I need to hook up a CD drive to my computer. I have a P5GC MX/133 mother board, two 256 gig hard drives and 3 1/2 disk drive. I would preferr not to diconnect any of the ubove

Hi kbrotzel,

You didn't indicate if your Hard drive is a SATA or PATA. So, I'm going to assume the problem your having is that the drive is a PATA, and your trying to install another PATA drive, when the board only comes with one IDE slot for PATA style drives. What you need to do is to exchange the CD ROM drive for a SATA drive, so you can put it in one fo the SATA ports. If they are both SATA, then just plug it into one of the SATA ports.

Good Luck

Samsung cd-master 40e will not boot

Is this conected to the motherboard vis sata or (ide)pata? If sata did you put it in the correct port and if so is it enabled.Secondly if ide or pata is the port enabled in the bios or do you have a second device attached to it.If using ide pata one drive should be master or slave ,,, or cable select.
These are the answers why it might not work. The last answer is it died, but i think this is the least likely answer.

Issue Installing 4th Drive Device (2 DVD Drives and 2 Harddrives)

You cannot plug an IDE ribbon in the floppy slot (port). The total IDE drives you can install is four (4). But check your jumper configuration. The DVD & DVD/CD-ROM cannot have the same jumper configuration to share the same IDE slot. One has to be MASTER (MS) and the other SLAVE (SL). Or you may put both drives on CABLE SELECT (CS).

Where do i plug in a second hard drive on the motherdoard on a hp pavilion a1220n

When you open up the casing (make sure you ground yourself), there should be a ribbon cable marked master and slave. The master is your primary drive, so you would connect the slave to your secondary hard drive. Have any other questions, let me know
