same problem, warrenty repair service person was unable to fix it. lg elec. supposed to replace the product.. i'm waiting, calling and complaining, but they have systemetic way of delaying the process. it took them 6 weeks to determine that this is unrepairable, and since it has been another 5 weeks so far. i'm calling them once a day now. btw, i'm in canada, usa might be different.. no more lg products for me!

My LG Plasma 42PC3D turns on and off repeatedly. I turn on my FIOS set top box first and than the TV and it turns on and off repeatedly (front bottom display goes red and green, red and green repeatedly)....

Your plasma TV has a power supply 6709900019A. These power supplies failed due to defective capacitors. See the picture below and check the capacitors mark with the red lines. There are 10 capacitors that should be replaced even if they do not show signs of bulging/swelling on top.
The value of the capacitors is 3300uF/10V but you can use 25 volts as long as they fit in the space provided by design.

LG 32" Plasma TV power-on problem

Hello,

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
