Fault code 49 is water valves, But the Aqua-Smart board is outputting the wrong code here, The Smart pump has blown the water valves fuse on it's overload, A common thing in Aqua-Smart Machines i always keep seeing,
The Smart pump has jammed with lint and caused over current to the board and taken out parts on the board that drive the pump.
Best to get a new/recondition board for your machine.

SOURCE: Error Code 49 on Fisher & Paykel Intuitive Eco

Fault 49 usually points to the cold inlet valve, either open circuit or not connected correctly. I often come across machines that the motor controller is the problem too.

I have a Fisher & Paykel GW609AU Smartdrive Excellence 6.5 Washing Machine that would start then stop then start then stop a few more times before eventually beeping.
I fixed it by bypassing(joined the white and yellow wire) the trip out switch which is located under the control module(one screw to remove). Now it Works.

Hi have had this problem on phase 5 grey controller, on the controll board near where the valve hot and cold wires are connected you will see a small usually blue resistor value approx 5ohms this is probably open circuit replace it check your water valves before reconnecting I was fortunate enough to have plenty of spare valves so I just replaced both valves as I suspect a faulty one may have damaged resistor machine has been working fine for some time since

SOURCE: Error Code 49 Fisher and Paykel Washing Machine

the code error (49) is telling you that the inlet valve is not working make sure the hoses are not blocked. if you have fitted the valve and is still not working then i would try using the unit on cold if it still does not work then there must be a short in the p.c.b control board.

hope this helps a little more

Fault 49 pops up on the screen

If your washer is a Fisher Paykel Top-Load Washer Error Codes = 49 I found this online by typing "Washing Machine Fault 49" into a google search engine...

Error Fault Condition - Water Inlet Valve Fault.
Repair or Check - Unplug the washer from power. Reconnect any non secure wires on the water inlet valve. Replace the wire harness if it is found to be damaged. If the wiring is okay then measure the resistance of the water inlet valves using an ohm meter. If the resistance of each water inlet valve solenoid is not 60 to 62 ohms then replace the complete water inlet valve assembly.
Parts for Replacement - Water Inlet Valve Assembly or Wire Harness.

Fault 49 60 ohms on each valve next step?

49. (00110001) Cold Valve or Cold Valve & Hot Valve Faulty
The Motor Control Module has measured a voltage from the valve diagnostic circuit that
indicates the cold valve or both the cold and hot valve is faulty. The most likely cause is
that the valve harness has not been connected correctly or the valve(s) is open circuit.
Primary Source: Wiring.
Action: Check the valve harnesses are correctly fastened to the valves and
the motor control module or the pins are not bent backwards.
Secondary Source: Water Valves.
Action: Measure the resistance of the cold and hot valve coils.
Tertiary Source: Motor Control module.
Action: Replace the Motor Control module.

Error codes 49 and 245

Fault code 49 is water valves - usually, the stop working when the rubber diaphagm inside gets hard, so a resistance only test is not conclusive (only tells us the solenoid is OK).
- Do a cold fill and a hot fill (briefly) to check for strong water flow on both.
- Regarding code 245, does water pump out strongly?
- One more thought, because these codes are both related to the water level in the machine, remove the level sensor hose at the controller end and blow into it to clear any blockage.
