STRANGe thing?
This is dvd/vhs type unit, GO,VIDEO system.
We put the dvd in and it runs, then again another dvd and nothing. It comes up with can not read dvd.
I looked through some of these listings and saw a note about the spinning of dvd so the machine can read the dvd.
I will listen for that problem, Yet, it does run some and then not others, about 50% it will not read.
Have any other of you run into this Odd problem?
Maybe the spinner is starting to go out completly?
Maybe dust or something has caused a clitch that comes and goes?
Any ideas would be good. I can certianly crack the box open and replace a part or so.
I thought maybe somebody ran into this type/same issue.
Thanks for any help.
Happy new years.

This is a common problem, bit only with Go video but with many DVD players that are in the 50-200 dollar range. It might be a bad disk, as the machine does play some disks.
More than likely it is a Codec issue. Each machine shipped, has software loaded with the latest codecs for playing movies, but they change and add codecs so often. If the newer codecs are on the disk, then the machine will not know how to read it. Try it in another machine or your computer and it just might work. I have the same problem with a few disks that I can think of, Sin City will not play on my computer, even with the newest codecs, yet it plays fine in my DVD. Other disks will play fine in the computer, yet the standalone DVD will not play them. It boils down to copy protection and the evils that that entails.
