Range hood suddenly ceased operation of all functions (fan, light, etc.). Checked the fuses, AC supply, filter microswitch, connections generally & looked for smoked parts on the circuit board. All is visually OK & transformer gets warm but not hot when AC is supplied. Does anyone have a schematic or other troubleshooting advice? Thanks, Wade

Did you measure the continuity of the primary and secondaries of the transformer which drops the line voltage to supply the front panel? Any chance you could scan and post the "mini-manual" that comes inside the unit? I repair just about any kind of control board / system out there, in case you might be interested. The main problem here is that there is no "mini manual" available and no wiring schematic [the only sticker on the hood shows the primary 120VAC connection]. I have checked the isolation transformer as suggested, and it produces 12VAC under load at its secondary with 120VAC applied to the primary as it should. Just replacing major parts is a problem; for example, the Triac which sells for $63 at "discount" appliance shops is available at most electronic suppliers for $7.50 (Allied, DigiKey, etc.), making the replacement of other major components rather expensive. All front panel switches show proper continuity, so it is rapidly narrowing down to the circuit board. I have checked discreet components on the circuit board [transistors,. MOV's, capacitors, etc], but do not have the facilities to test the microcontroller. The 5V supply to the IC's is working OK when AC is supplied to the board.
I could buy a replacement circuit board for about $175, but have no guarantee that this is the problem. Can anyone help at this level?
