How to Check Voicemail Remotely?

If you have cleared the voicemail on the phone bank itself is there a possibility that your provider has it's own separate voicemail service?

I have ran into this scenario a number of times as the voicemail on your unit is a separate service from the provider. They will commonly have some number to dial to check the messages, It seems like they enable this "feature" usually when some other change has been made to the phone service, like call waiting, distinctive ring, etc.

Whoever is the voicemail administrator in your office can reset the password to default or the mailbox to new. Very often no one takes this responsibility, so you may need to call your service company to do this, sometimes remotely.

The display on a Nortel set will say "message for you" if there's a message in your mailbox. To access your voicemail you can press your open voicemail key if its programmed or press feature 981.If you wish to retrieve your messages remotely, call your office, when the autoattendant answers the call press ** followed by your extension number, your password then # (ex. **2231234#).

more than likely someone in your office left the message rather than the voice mail. to clear it press the call soft key below the screen. the screen should display who left the message with two of the soft keys labeled call and erase. press the erase soft key. it's possible the the person/s theat left the message left multiple messages. in that case repeat the procedure til all messages are canceled. Since the M7208"s don't have the 3 soft keys enter in feature 65 to reply to the message or feature #65 to cancel.

Depending on the type of voicemail you have It can be accomplished by calling in to the office and when the main greeting starts playing press **, the administrator mailbox number, the password and the pound key (the administrator password must be changed from 0000). Once in the mailbox press either 9 or 99 at this point you can re record the main greeting.

To access your voice mail remotely, call into the voicemail and wiat for either the main greeting or your mailbox greeting to answer the line, press ** followed by your mailbox number password and then the # key (ex. **2251234#).

Partner System doesnt have light notification feature if voicemail left on carrier site. I suggest you purchase small voicemail (4 mailboxes) for about $250 with installation and cancell your carrier voicemail service. You will be able to see new message light, also you can access your mailboxes remotely. It will pay for itself if carrier services cancelled within 7 or 8 month. with voice mails there usually is a phone code you have to use if its office phone code i would check with the 1234 or 12345 this is basic for whole office voicemail
