Infrared light out, power light out

Sounds like the infrared light is not working, need to check with Truth cam Primos about that.

You could always try a system reset:

Starting with the PS3 off... Hold Power button on PS3 for 10 seconds. When you hear the second beep, it has been reset.

helloFive blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.

the screen is on its way out

Our tv is about 2 1/2 yrs old and did the same thing we had to replace the bulb and bulb driver board this fixed the problem

switch on no picture but short period of sound then nothing

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
