Try to remove the SD card from the camera and view the pictures. If you can still view the pictures it means that they are in the internal 8mb memory. If it is inth internal 8MB memory, you have to connect to a PC in order to transfer them.

Ref viewing film negatives direct on PC via USB connector. pics2sd will only start up if I also have an sd card plugged in. It will then only show card content on pc.

From what I can gather (and you may wish to check this in the manual), the USB link is provided only for the purpose you describe - checking the scans from the SD card. To actually put the images onto your computer, you will need to insert the SD card into the card reader on your computer.

I can't view images on Internal memory when SD card is inserted.

Put the card in, then select "Copy" from the playback menu. You will then be given the option of copying individual images or all of them. See the instructions beginning on page 99 of the manual: http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/manuals/pdf/index/s/finepix_s5700_s700_s5800_s800_manual_01.pdf

How do I clear the internal memory?

This should do it - this comes from the manual Formatting will do what you want.

Formatting an SD Memory Card or Internal Memory This utility formats the internal memory (or memory card) and erases all stored images and data. 1. Press the button to turn on your ViviCam 3785. 2. Press the MODE button twice to enter [ ] Playback mode. Then press the button to enter the Playback menu. 3. Select [Delete] by using the / buttons, and press the button. 4. Select [Format ] by using the / buttons, and press the button. 5. If you want to format your SD memory card or the internal memory choose [OK] by pressing / buttons, then press the button to confirm. To cancel the action, select [Cancel] instead. [No Image] pops up after the SD memory card or internal memory has been formatted. Note: Be sure the SD memory card is properly inserted into the camera before formatting it. To format the internal memory, be sure to remove your SD memory card first. Formatting will erase all information (even unrelated , non-camera data) from the memory/card. For complete compatibility, be sure NOT to select FAT 32 as the file system when you format the SD card in your computer. Memory cards formatted in FAT 32 file system will not be recognized by this ViviCam 3785.

How to view photos

To view them on the camera lcd screen, press the playback button (green arrow in a green box, 2nd button down to the right of the screen) and then scroll through them one by one using the left and right buttons on the thumb pad. If you press the up and down buttons the image will advance forward and back by ten pictures each time.

To view them on a tv, turn the camera off and connect the video cable supplied with the camera to your tv input terminal (yellow). Turn the camera on set the tv to display the input feed and then use the camera playback button as before.

To view them on a computer, you'll need to upload them to the computer first. The best way is to turn the camera off and remove the memory card, and then insert it into a memory card reader connected to your computer. The computer will then prompt you to upload and display the images.

Camera acts like it is taking photos just fine (and it was working wonderfully previously), but when I insert card into computer to view images, there are none showing up. And, when I try to view them with...

Check your memory card and see if it has a lock switch on it, if it does and it is locked it wont accept images for overwrite protection , another possibility is a faulty or non-readable card, some memory cards will not work with some devices, sometimes a kingston memory will not work and if you insert a sony or a memorex or any other manufacturer it may work or accept the card, if the camera does not read the card it will not save pics therefore u wont see any images on your PC o in cam playback, try that and see if it works for you, let me know.

Good luck ,

Panasonic lumix dmc fz50

FIRST YOU HAVE TO CHECK THAT YOUR PC PICKS UP THE CAMERA AS A EXTERNAL DRIVE IN MY COMPUTER. IF NOT THEN THERE MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE CABLE OR THE JACK ON THE CAMERA. THIS DOES GET DAMAGED IF YOU DO NOT PULL THE CABLE OUT STRAIGHT. DO NOT WIGGLE THE CABLE.

Bug in the Optio S40?

Somewhere I read to be careful using cardreaders, using your memory card in different camera's and managing your card via the computer. Appearantly all of these can corrupt your card. The advice is to hook your camera directly up to your computer to transfer images and perhaps it is wise to erase images through the camera's menu instead of via the transfer program of the computer. Try formatting the card using the camera's menu and see if the problem persists.
