Declcification Program not working

I was given a used Capresso C1000 recently that is in good working order, but has the red "Decalcify machine" light illuminated. I purchased some Durgol solution and prepared to run the decalcification program.

I turned the unit off, emptied the water tank, waited a few hours, and pressed the hot water button for 3 seconds as directed in the manual.

At this point 3 red lights illuminated (Power, Decalcify machine, and Empty Drawer). No green lights were lit or blinking. I did not attempt to continue the decalcification since the 4 green lights indicated did not light up. I checked the drawer, emptied the grinds, replaced it, reset the machine, and unplugged and re-plugged and attempted the process again with the same results.

Do you have suggestions as to what I may be doing incorrectly, or if something other procedure needs to take place for me to decalcify the machine?

This is an old question but I have the answer. I called Capresso Customer service. I told her what I was doing and she walked me through it. When it came to holding down the button for three seconds, I said I didn't get green lights but 4 solid red lights. She informed me the manual booklet was wrong and asked me where I got it. I said it came with the machine AND I looked it up online and downloaded a PDF of the manual just to double check. She informed me "Well, you are where you need to be now, so proceed with the decalcification". You think Capresso would put up or send out a notice to owners. They have my info and they have "refurbished" the machine once before. Weird.

I need to clean my capresso c1000. i can't find the instructions. i put a cleaning tablet into the ground coffee area, and ran the ground coffee button a few times. is that it?

No, first push the self clean button (hold until lights come on). Then pull the grounds unit and empty it, that will turn off one red light. Fill the water tank. Then drop the tablet. Then hit the ground coffee button. Cycle through and dump the grounds each time the grounds light illuminates.

Is there an easier was to decalcify the capresso 3000 than taking apart the whole machine. The directions say you have to remove the auto cappuccino assembly

Yes
You should run the decalcify program with the JURA decal tablets or DURGOL. Do not use other agents.
See page 25 of user manual.

I am having trouble starting the decalcify program, even though the light blinks "ready/decalcify"

Had the same problem, i noticedt that there is a procedure to run decalcify anytime in the instructions book.

Turn off the machine, press Rinse button until it says Empty Tray then go go Step 2 in the instructions.

I have a capresso C1000, and I looking for the pump plastic tubing

Quite possibly, you can find what you're looking for at an aquarium supply store. They have different types & sizes of tubing.

Quit in the middle of the cleaning process

call capresso, they will go through the whole machine for a small fee, or offer you a new model at a reduced cost
