I have a # symbol in place of volume strength

On 1 of my 2 radios, the pound symbol remains in place of where my volume # would display. It is draining my batteries faster and it cannot receive a single alert beep

You might try reprogramming back to a very basic function by turning off any special features such as VOX, VibraCall, Interference Eliminator Code, Qt filtering, etc. Then see if the radio works any better. Also replace your battery pack with a known good battery, or trade batteries with a working radio.

Best regards.

SOURCE: Radio will not transmit, display seems wrong

Here is a link to the user manual for the SV600R. http://www.giantintl.com/ContentManage/manuals/Moto/SX600%2012-21-07.pdf Follow the instructions to reprogram the affected radio. Note: The problem you are describing may not be simply programming. The radio problem may be non-reversible. You might also try a new battery, or switch the battery from the other unit for a test, just to see if the battery is bad.

Hello, this is a long shot, but thought I would try. I have a pair of Motorola t5620 that have worked great up until now. I have everything set the same on both units. Channel 3-1 one has a display beside...

Hello,

I looked in the user guide of some other TalkAbout models and found the emblem you are describing. I believe it is the volume control emblem. Here is a link where you can look for yourself http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T6200_User_Manual_E.pdf see page 24.

You might have one of three problems:
1) The volume potentiometer is going bad in one of the radios. If this is the case, you may be able to find a sweet spot where it will work. Try moving the volume knob to different settings and see if you can get it to work.
2) Something is wrong with your PL code setting, VOX setting, or another setting on the radio. Go back to square one, and reprogram the radio for simple operation with no special features turned on. Then try using the radios together. If you still cannot communicate, one of your radios is bad and the only way to tell is to introduce another known good radio into the mix.
3) The radio which will not transmit might have a bad battery. It takes more energy to Transmit than to Receive. Try swapping the batteries and see if the problem moves to the other radio. If so, replace your battery.

Here is a link to the T5620 user guide, just in case someone reading this needs it: http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T56XX_57XX_User_Manual_E.pdf

Best regards.

I cannot get the qwerty keyboard on my HTC desire HD to display a pound steling sign, it only seems to have a dollar sign

Hi,

The Pound Sterling sign is available. Please follow these steps:
  1. On the keyboard hit the ?123 keyboard to bring out the numbers and symbols layout.
  2. Now, hit ALT to show the alternate symbols layout. The Pound Sterling symbol is available in place of # in this layout.
Hope this helps. If so, please consider rating this solution.

I just bought 15 cans unopened of atom 8018 c-1 What is it good for? Should I try to sell it? Thanks

#1: Atom arc rod is very good and expensive rod comparatively speaking. 8018 is similar to 7018. It is an all position rod but instead of 70,000 pound tensile strength , it has 80,000 pound tensile strength.7018 is commonly used in repairs or steel construction 8018 is used in appilcations where the need for a higher strength or stronger weld is called for . Usually when welding higher grade steel than A.-36 It can be used in place of 7018. 5/32 calls for 150+ amps. 1/8 is a more common size.Remember Atom arc is top of line but finding someone who will pay the difference or needs this rod may be hard to find.

Clock keeps working plus 1 hour Lexibook RP200GB set the time but every night it resets to 1 hour ahead can't find user manual please help

Hope this helps I had same irratating problem
1. The RP200 is designed to automatically synchronize its calendar clock once it is brought within a range of 1500km of the Frankfurt DCF77 radio signal. When the RP200 is brought within this range, its auto-control mechanism will override all manual settings.
2. The clock automatically starts scanning the RF 433MHz signal after new batteries are inserted in the main unit. When receiving the RF 433MHz radio signal, the Radio Tower symbol starts to blink. A complete reception generally takes about 10 minutes, depending on the strength of the radio signal.
3. When the reception is complete, the Radio Tower symbol will stop blinking and remain solid
4. For an optimal reception, place the clock away from metal objects and electrical appliances (i.e. television, computer, monitor, etc) to minimize interference.
Notes:
• The unit will receive the RCC signals every day at 2am.
• The RCC signal can also be triggered by holding the key for 2
seconds in time mode.
• When the unit is searching or receiving the RCC signal (which lasts
about 5 minutes), none of the keys is working except the key.
• Press and hold the key for 2 seconds if you wish to stop to the
RCC signal search.
If the RP200 is brought outside the range of the Frankfurt DCF77 radio signal or if the signal is interfered, please set the time and date manually according to the instructions below. If the unit is located within the radio-controlled range, you may want to customize some of the clock settings.
Note: When no key is pressed for more than one minute, the unit returns to time mode (time, date and temperature display
World Time Clock
This function allows you to adjust the clock to a time zone. It is
particularly useful for travelers. Set the clock to the city you are located in, or to a city in the same time zone.
1. In time mode, press [MODE] twice to select the world time clock.
2. Press the key to select the city in which you are located.
3. Press to adjust the summer saving time function.
4. Press and hold [SET] to set the world time as the local time. When the local time is the same as the world time, the icon flashes.

Sound increases as you accelerate. can you switch off?

I know what you mean. Used to be a source of irritation in this otherwise super-quiet car. It was like "hey... the music plays far too loud now please drive a little slower dad". Really irritating on the Autobahn, constantly fiddling on that volume knob.

Interestingly, the instruction manual for the business CD main unit gave no clues at all! Then I found the solution at the bimmerfest BMW forum:

"
1.Power down the unit (using the knob) and power back up in the radio mode
(either AM or FM).
2. Hold down the "m" button (right of the display) until your display shows
a serial # xxxxxxxxxxx.
3. Using the "+" or "-" buttons that surround the center "musical note
symbol" button to the left of your display, scroll until "GAL 3" comes up,
which is factory setting. Using the number buttons 1 thru 6 below your
display, press the number "1". Your display will now read "GAL 1 ".
4. Power down the unit again (using the knob) and when you power back up,
your new setting will be effective!
5. To confirm that the new setting is active, repeat steps 2 & 3 to check
your "GAL" setting.
6. Enjoy your HK unit's volume the way YOU want to hear it!
"

I assume there are slightly different versions of this in different models but it goes something like this, the keyword you are looking for in the menu system is "GAL" which is a German acronym for speed-sensitive volume control (Geschwindigkeitsabhängige Lautstärkenregelung für Radio).

Good luck!

I assume yo have WinXP.

Go into control panel>Regional & Language... Change your location to whatever you want it to be.  Keyboard assigned symbols are supposed to change accordingly.  But the keyboard printing remains the same so you need an "overlay" for your country.

You can also customize it to some degree also.  Play around with it and have some fun.
