Use to independent grounds always better that way. Better full field for power and less distortion. I like to use 4 guage or lower like 0 guage for high powered systems. Good luck, thanks for using FIX YA

It is a capacitor. Please read up on how capacitors work and it will explain itself.

The capacitor is holding a charge, just like it was designed to do.

How to wire a 10 farad power acoustik capaciter

With BIG wires from battery to cap and then to your amp.

Good idea to put fuse or fusible link between bat + and the cap. Protects against fires.

If one wanted to be safe from starter motor transients I would gate the + power lead with a power relay between the battery and the cap. This relay should close when you are in run or accessory position of your key switch. I recommend this as there are so MANY dead car audio amps. Just search for them on here! A bunch of them MIGHT be caused by inductive transients during starter motor shutdown. Note the inductance is in the grounding wire from teh battery to the engine/chassis.

25 farad cap slowly losing its charg if the car sits for to long

Cap is hooked up wrong, should shut off after a certain amount of time and reactivate with the ignition hot wire. If it's draining your battery continuously then you should look at the wiring.

Power acoustik 5 farad neon digital capacitor

You hook it up in parallel with your amp. You'll see a and - on the clear plastic cover.
Hook a wire from your amp or positive to the capacitor
Hook another wire from your amp - or negative to the - on the capacitor.

That's it, you're done.

If the plastic cover is missing, or painted over, with the neon tubes at the top, and the connector/display end facing you, the right side is the left side is -.

How do i hook up my power acoustik capacitor the right way.

HEY GUY..FIRST THING....GOOD JOB IN GETTING A BIG CAP :) ...SECOND I HAVE WIRED THESE FOR YEARS..ITS REALLY VERY EASY.......THE OBJECTIVE IS TO PUT THIS IN LINE WITH YOUR AMP....SO WITHIN ABOUT A FOOT AND A HALF OF YOUR AMP..YOU WANT TO 1.. CUT YOUR POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE WIRES RUNNING THE POWER TO YOUR AMP...2. YOU WILL THEN CUT THE INSULATION OFF AROUND THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE WIRES ON BOTH ENDS OF THE WIRES YOU HAVE JUST CUT(YOU WILL END UP HAVING THE 2 POS AND 2 NEG. WIRES WITH THE INSULATION PEELED OFF)... 3... YOU WILL THEN JUST HAVE THE 2 WIRES (WITH THE INSULATION GONE OFF OF THEM) OUT OF THE AMP..AND THE OTHER 2 STRIPPED OFF RUNNING TO THE CAR BATTERY (POS) AND THE (NEG) TO THE CAR FRAME OR NEG BATTERY POST... 4.. YOU WILL THEN JUST MATCH UP THE POSITIVE FROM THE AMP INTO THE POSITIVE ON THE CAP...AND THE POSITIVE GOING BACK TO THE BATTERY OF YOUR CAR TO THE POSITIVE ON THE CAPACITOR...DO THE SAME THING WITH ALL OF THE NEGATIVES.......
SUMMARY.... CUT THE NEG. AND POSITIVE WIRES.WITHIN 1.5 FT FROM THE AMP.... PEEL INSULATION ON WIRES BACK ABOUT .5" ON ALL 4 WIRES.... PUT ALL THE POSITIVES TOGETHER AND ALL THE NEGATIVES TOGETHER...AND YOU CANT GO WRONG....THANK YOU
Good Luck
