Flight flashing on liftmaster 2000

Hi I have a liftmaster 2000 remote garage door opener.

After opening the door, during the brief period when the light should be on, it flashes on and off rapidly and I can hear the relay clicking.
The unit will not respond to the remote control during this time.

After a while the light stops flashing and it is possible to close the door.

At first I thought it was a faulty blub but the replacement does the same thing. I have reprogrammed the remotes and reset the unit but still have this problem.

thanks
Steve

A flashing light (bulb) usually means an error. Besides the flashing does the operator open and close normally?

Apparently this problem is caused by weak batteries in the remote, I changed them and that solved the problem

Craftman Garage Door Opener (Mdl: 139.53992) stopped working today. We had bad storms last night with numerous brief power outages. Light on back is now flashing orange. I can't get the opener to...

I would first of all unplug the opener for at least 15 minutes and see if it doesn't reset. If not, pull the logic board and check for burnt or missing traces on the printed circuit board.

Can enter code on keypad to lower garage door, however keypad just "flashes" when code is entered to raise door

If your other remotes are working normally I would suspect first of all a weak battery in the keypad. Secondly the keypad could be getting weak and the closed door blocks enough of the signal to cause your problem. An open door lets the signal through. Normally during the time the keypad is flashing you can hit 'enter' again to reverse the door if it is closing or stop the door if it is opening.
