I once had a problem with my machine and was told I was using the wrong size plastic bobbin. I replaced it was an 8mm deep one and it works fine. Where do I buy these in bulk? Any ideas? Most of the sellers on ebay do not specify bobbin size so I'm a bit concerned I'll end up with the too large ones. Thanks.

Is thread under bobbin? can you turn it? can you pull the thread off the bobbin and then remove it? Bobbin that comes with machine may not be right one. Right one has a light blue tint and a slightly domed top.

Follow these instructions, undo the 2 screws on the right hand side plate where the balance wheel is and take the plate off, undo the screw on the chrome stop motion wheel, undo the stop motion and take it off, take off the 2 pronged washer and notice which way it goes on, not a problem if you can't remember, you should be able to pull the balance wheel back so you can get to the screws on the winder, if you can.t and if you have a problem getting the balance wheel all the way then go the very bottom of the machine and you will see 2 big holes and one of the holes will lead you to a big screw and nylon adjuster, slacken the screw and move the nylon adjust so the belt goes slack, you can not take the balance wheel all the way off to get to the screws on the winder, take the old one off and screw the new one on, whilst you have the balance wheel off it would be wise to put some thin oil on the shaft before you put the balance wheel back on, when you have the balance wheel on and the and the belt round the pulley turn the nylon adjuster so the belt is tight and tighten up the screw, put the side plate back on, put the 3 pronged washer back on, put the stop motion wheel back on and just tighten finger tight then tighten the small screw.

Oddly, this came up when i googled" troubleshoot singer 2263". but since I'm here...
This expenxive knick knack is a joke, except it's not funny.
We should get Michael Moore to make a movie. Singer sould be ashamed of themselves. The brand our grand & great grandmother's ached for & 90% of could not manage to purchase.
What with pandemics, wars & depression (not the type treated by Celebrex)
I got 1 for Christmas, YAY (I thought)
It worked exactly 92 days, (warranty is 90, & parts only)
Singer (who do not deserve to have their name capatalized) said take it to a singer dealer, ($80.00 to look @ , machine cost $90.00, later saw it on sale for $68.73).
The vendor did exchange it,
I took this exact replacement home, set it up, never sewed 1 stitch.
The bobbin thread was wrapping around the spool pin.
The box was gone, the receipt inside.
I took it back the next day. Vendor would not exchange.
So I''m going in...this was not my plan.
If I can't get it, I'm going to small claims court, as I do have proof of purchase on per my credit card.
I'll be back!

Yes it does, what does your manual recommend? I suspect one bobbin is a 15 and the other a 15j. The 15j is a little bigger, if it sticks out it can mess up your timing. So I wouldn't use it.
Testimonial: "Thankyou. I don't know how I came to get hold of the larger bobbins. I willnot attempt to use them. Love the machine too much to risk damage. Lion"
