Can I replace the driver of my HP enhanced multimedia PS/2 keyboard

I have an HP desktop with HP enhanced multimedia PS/2 keyboard. I am having some trouble interfacing with a Belkin KVM switch and I suspect the driver for this keyboard as the source of the problem. I thought a more standard keyboard and driver would solve the problem, but I really don't want to get a new keyboard and thought about only changing drivers. Is that possible and what would I change it to?

Very unlikely. You may get a generic driver from MS, or even an updated on from HP. Work within Device Manager and don't let it manage you. Meaning it has a tendency to do what it thinks is best. There is a update, rollback and uninstall. Try uninstall and testing. gl

WE STOPPED USING ps2 DEVICE IN THE LAST CENTURY
Why are you using this? now, in 2017
did you know, (can prove it) that some PCs cant even send enough power to many PS2 devices,
that is because it is NOT THERE device.

solved, buy USB devices.
and end any usage of XP now. for ever.
and win.

I want to change keyboards

Hi Richard,
most enhanced keyboards need a specific driver to run.
Go to the manufacturers website to download the driver. or search on Google.
You might also have to enter BIOS (accessed when the computer is booting..look for a message that tells you how to get into BIOS, or look in your user manual). Often it can be accessed by pressing the DELETE or F1 key just after you power up. The option in BIOS you may have to change is something like "enable Legacy support for USB".
Have you tried looking in the Dell support website? As you just recently(?) bought this, you can ring up Dell support centre and ask them to help.
Cheers,
Steve

Internet connection

If you have dial-up internet, it will happen.

If you have DSL, make sure you have DSL filters installed for each phone.
