Just bought this. no directions [why should i need directions anyway?], slid blade in front, I can see it moving in and out through the twine cutting cutout. Blade will not come out for use and it won't eject when I push the black eject button.

I'm almost willing to bet there isn't actually a blade in the knife.

SOURCE: I have a DeWalt DW733 and I need instructions on

Are the blades turnover knives? If they are the easiest way to do it is to adjust the planer bed or seat to omm planing depth. then take either an adjustable (combination) square or steel rule, and hold the edge of it along the bed or seat and adjust the allen (Hex) screws so that the edge of the knife allows a piece of a4 paper to pass between it and the rule tightly. Do this both sides of the knives and you are done.

SOURCE: I cannot open the front of the utility knife to

I was able to find the answer on another site. It is really simple when someone tells it to you. You push the blade all the way out then you can push the yellow button and it comes out.

SOURCE: WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE STANLEY SWIVEL LOCK UTILITY

If you use the wrong brand of blades, they won't let the knife shut all the way. The notch is cut slightly differently. The same is true for the Kobalt knife I just bought at Lowes. Get the Stanley blades that are right next to the knives - they are the only ones that work.

Sorry.

If you bought the Stanley blades, then I don't know what the problem is. Sorry for that too.

Describe how you put a blade in FatMax model 10-778

The model in your picture is a fixed blade utility knife (model 10-816). Your question asks for instructions for model 10-778, which is a retractable knife. I'll guide you through the 10-778 which you asked for, if you need instructions for the pictured 10-816 please re-post the question.

Push the thumb slide forward as far as it goes exposing the blade. Press the blade change button on the side of the knife (the small button on the left side near the blade) and pull out the old blade.
Insert the new blade and slide thumb slide back to fully engage blade in the internal lock.

Stanley 10-801 utility knife. How do you change the replaceble blade?

On the pivot end of the bladed knife is a black plug that says pull. They actually mean "Push". push it away from the knife body and rotate the handle half it's mounted in, down. The body will rotate in half , revealing the utility blade and more blades in the rear storage. Also note the blade depth adjustment has a locking detent. You have to push it to the right to unlock the utility blade.and push it to the right when retracting to fully retract and lock the utility blade.

Change blades I just need a picture /instruction for blade change

The gold looking circle on the side of the utility knife. Just unscrew that and it will pop open then you can change the blade. I looked everywhere and am unable to find the instruction or picture. I own one and that is why I am answering this for you. Please rate

Just purchased a Stanley FatMax 10-778 retractable knife. Cannot figure out how to load the blade for use.

1. Make sure the side lock is unlocked.
2. Push the thumb tab all the way to the front of the blade handle.
3. Insert the blade in the opening, you may notice two notches on the top side of the blade.
4. Press the small blade release button as you slide the blade into the knife. You may have to jiggle up and down to get the two notches on the blade fully into the handle.

If properly inserted, the exposed area of the blade should look very close to an equilateral triangle.

make sure both notches of the blade are inside the handle. They notch into the thumb lever.

good luck
