My icraig tower CHT910 will not play ipad.

I imagine it would be unlikely that there would be a fuse in this sort of equipment. I gather the system is dead? It could be anything from a bad connection to a component on the main board that's blown. The only way is to open it up and using a multimeter, check from the plug to the unit to see if the cable has broken and across the switch. (Do this with the unit unplugged of course)

Switch from the docking/iPod mode to AUX IN mode.

I'm not to sure but what you can do is buy a junk unit and use the bottom from that one to put on the good one, and who knows if another part breaks the junk unit most likely has that part to, usually it cheaper to buy a junk one than buy all the new parts separately

I had the same problem and I hope this awnser will help because there could be multiple problems, but my solution from experience is that the charger on top of the speaker has been moved forward and even being just a centimeter can mess it up so what I do is when I put my device on it I wedge the system remote begin the device and I'm te hole of the charger pocket where the phone goes, to push the phone forward so it can connect to the speaker

sometimes the system can get a little "rusty" after inactivity. The most common simple solution is to unplug it then plug it back in

My iCraig tower won't come out of standby. The red light for standby is showing, but it won't come on. Also, it had taken to shutting itself off...from the get-go, actually. Any way to fix this?

Sounds like you have a broken dock connector. Apple should give you a replacement. If you're out warranty, you can try to open it and replace dock connector. You can get the part at iPad Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to open a kindle and install parts at iPad Repair Guide.
