My daughter just received one of these camera's for her 6th birthday and is extremely excited. I am running Windows XPand was getting the "No pictures on camera" error. I tried downloadingthe drivers for this but that did not work. Here is what I did to getthe camera working:

1) Connect the camera with the provided USB cable.
2) Download the latest driver from the Digital Blue web site: http://digiblue.com/customer-service/downloads/index.html, select the "The Disney Pix Micro Drivers for WIN ME, 2000, XP"
3) Install this driver, this will not enable the camera to work yet.
4) After this driver has installed, go to Control Panel
5) Select System
6) Select the Hardware tab
7) Select Device Manager
8) Find the device in the list (mine said "USB Digital Still Camera"),will probably have the yellow exclamation mark on it saying that it isnot working.
9) Double click the device
10) Select "Reinstall Driver" from the General tab
11) When asked if Windows can connect to Windows Update to search for software, select "Yes, this time only" and click Next.
12) Choose "Install the software automatically" and click Next.
13) You should get a message saying the driver for the "DB CIF Cam" hasnot passed the Windows Logo testing, select "Continue Anyway".
14) Click Finish.
15) The first time I did this, I needed to take a picture while the camera was connected to the PC.

After doing this I am able to download the pictures and everything works great.

I hope this helps.

The software was written for windows XP or vista, so it will not work for you. Heres what you can do to get the photos on the computer. Get a card reader, take out the media card and use the card reader to download the images.

Adobe has a program that you can use to edit your photos. Here's a link

I can't install it.

Ensure that you are running XP Service Pack 2 version, this software won't work on Windows previous version.

If you are using 98, you need to upgrade system.

If you are using XP you may need to upgrade service pack 2, see Download details: Windows XP Service Pack 2 .

http://digiblue.com/customer-service/downloads/drivers/SQ905C_DSC_Drive_XP_Vista_DigitalBlue_V2.005_2007MAY24.exe

if you are using windows vista use the following above link to download the new driver.

1) Please install the Disney Pix 2 software and the Disney Pix Micro Downloader to your computer via the software CD that came with the Disney Pix Micro
2) Please double-click on the "Setup" to begin the install of the Pix Micro drivers. The User Account Control will appear warning you that a program is trying to run. Please click "Allow".
3) Complete the install of the driver by following the prompts.
4) After the install completes, you are prompted to restart the computer. Please select "Restart now" and then click "Finish".
5) You can now delete the Setup program from your computer
6) Connect your Disney Pix Micro to the computer and wait for the device to install.
7) Double-Click on the Downloader shortcut to open the downloader
Now the Pix Micro Downloader is open with the correct privileges and the Pix Micro camera is connected. If you click the "Download" button. A dialog box appears saying "Pixel Up".
Please click the "OK" button and the download will complete successfully. The images can even be deleted via the downloader after the images are downloaded. Although, every time you open the downloader, you must run it as an administrator and every time you download, the "Pixel Up" box will appear.

If you are having a problem installing a product that uses InstallShield as their installation tool, and the steps below do not resolve your issue, you will need to contact the vendor of the software, as we cannot provide further support. Your vendor, who used InstallShield as an installation tool, created the product that you are trying to install. It is very likely that the error you are getting is related to how the vendor used our product and only the vendor would know which InstallShield product they used, which version and how they programmed it. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

This article applies to the following errors when trying to install an application that uses InstallShield:

Error extracting support files
Error installing Ikernel.exe (0x any number)
Access is denied
Error loading Type Library/DLL

Discussion

Detect Version
Different troubleshooting steps are necessary for different version of InstallShield. To check the version of InstallShield Professional that was used to create the setup, take the following steps:

1.Right-click on the setup.exe
2.Select "Properties".
3.In the Properties dialog, select the tab labeled "Version".
4.Near the top there will be a filed labeled "File Version". The number specified here will tell you approximately what version of InstallShield was used to create this install.

InstallShield 5.x and 3.x
If the version of InstallShield is less than 6.00, see article Q100198, HOWTO: Eliminating General Setup Initialization Errors.

InstallShield 6.x
If the version is 6.00 or greater, continue with the following steps.

Setup initialization errors can be caused by a number of factors. This is a non-exhaustive list of possible resolutions:

1.Insufficient permissions on the machine. If you are using a Windows NT or a Windows 2000 machine, you need to have administrative permissions to run an InstallShield Professional 6.x setup. Make sure you have the correct permissions.

2.If you just ran an InstallShield setup, the engine takes a few seconds at the end of the installation to clean up. During this time Ikernel.exe (the engine file) is running in memory from a previous process. That is why you are not allowed to launch another setup. Waiting a few seconds and running the setup again should resolve this.

3.Check and make sure Ikernel.exe is not in memory. If it is, and no setup is running at the time, end that task and restart the system.

4.Clean out the Temp directory.

5.Delete the Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine folder and then rerun the setup.

6.Reinstalling Internet Explorer (IE) 5.x can also repair a number of corrupted/missing core Windows files from your machine, so reinstalling IE 5.x and the NT service pack is also suggested.

7.Another possibility is that you do not have sufficient COM permissions. For information on how to troubleshoot this, see article Q104986, INFO: Initialization Error Troubleshooting.

8.The other potential cause is a missing Stdole.tlb file. This is a core Windows file and should exist on your machine. Make sure that if you get this file from another machine, the machine is running the same operation system as the machine you are trying to run the setup on.

9.If you are trying to install to a Windows 98 machine, download and run Dcom98.exe from the following site: http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom98/download.asp.

10.Make sure that you are using the latest version of the InstallShield engine. To install the latest engine see article Q105097, INFO: Install the Latest Version of Ikernel.exe

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in Digital Blue. Please unplug the camera from your computer and follow the steps below.
  1. Open the Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories. Right-click on 'Command Prompt' and select "Run As Administrator...".
  2. This will bring up a window saying 'Windows needs your permission to continue', please click on the 'Continue' button.
  3. When the DOS window opens, type in (without the quotes):
    'cd c:\windows\system32'
  4. The above should change the command prompt to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32:.
  5. Now, type in (without the quotes): 'regsvr32 vbscript.dll'
    (dll = dynamic link library)
  6. You should see a window pop up stating 'DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded.'
  7. Please insert the software CD with version 2.2.0 into your CD/DVD-ROM drive.
  8. This will bring up the auto-play for the install, please follow the prompts to go through the installation.
  9. The install consists of three different software packages, you should see the Pix 2.2, Pix Loader or Pix Micro Downloader, and the DB CIF Cam being installed.
  10. If you receive an error after the Pix 2.2 install, you will need to download the drivers and Downloader program from our website at http://digiblue.com/customer-service/downloads/index.html You will need to select the 'Disney Pix Micro Downloader' and 'Disney Pix Micro Drivers for WIN Vista'.
  11. Once you have installed the drivers and downloader program you will be asked to restart your computer. After the computer has been restarted, plug the camera into the USB port and look to see that the computer says the drivers have been installed.
  12. Open the Pix Loader or Disney Pix Micro Downloader from your Desktop or from the All Programs list and click on the Download button. If you have a 'Pixel Up' window pop up, click OK, and wait for the download to finish. A 'Delete' button will come up on the Downloader program which will indicate the download has been completed.
  13. You can view the photos by going to 'My Pictures' > 'My Snapshots' or using the Pix 2.2 editing software.
HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
