Hi. I am trying to use the crib i used when i was a child, for my baby. I have no idea how to put this together...Half the sticker is ripped off with the model number....it's either: 91800 or 91000. and it was made on May 37...(year is ripped off) but i was born in 1987 and im guessing it was made that year or the year before. Please help
Unless you are 8 years old or younger I strongly advise against this. The crib safety standards have been revised several times in the last 35 years with the last major revision made in 2000. Thus, older cribs are no longer considered safe. Why did the standards get revised? Because childer were getting killed or hurt in these older designs. It is easy to say "well it was fine for me, I am still alive" but would you let your child travel in a car without a car seat even though you managed to survive without one?
In addition to the design changes, any crib made of wood - the glue holding it together gets dried out and the wood itself looses some of it's moisture and strength over the years.
Older hardware used different screws which will now more easily pull out of the dried older wood. PLEASE do not put any baby into this crib. Older second hand cribs are associated with more deaths than new cribs.
