I have an SR1000 SR182ONX desktop, but the front of my built in DVD/CD writer/player say SR192ONX. I can't burn or play DVDs. The current driver (TS-H552L) says it is not a writer. I need the correct...
It sounds like your operating system quit seeing your dvd/cd writer/player.
to check this locate mycomputer icon, or goto start and locate computer and right click on it.
a window will open, click on properties, then left click on Device manager you will see all the devices on your computer, and you should see DVD/CD-ROM drives in the list of devices. if you right click on this you have a choice of scan for new devices or Properties, if you scan for new devices chances are it will not find you dvd/cd-rom device, windows operating system very seldom does. so click on properties,
You will see several choices like reload driver, update driver, uninstall drive depending on your operating system. If you have the DVD/CD-rom device cd with the software driver then and only then you may uninstall the driver, so you can reload it to make the operating system see the device after you reboot the computer, then install the driver again... If you do not know what I'm talking about...Take the computer back to the repair shop and have them to the repairs to make the Windows Operating system see the DVD/CD-rom device.
