I have a LG 55LE5400 tv. The problem I am having is when you turn the TV on the LG welcome screen shows then goes to the television image (TV, Comp, HDMI, etc.) the image will freeze after one second then slowly fade to black before the television shuts off and restarts itself. The process keeps repeating itself until you unplug the power cord. I have called LG tech support and they will not help. Would the front panel touchpad have anything to do with it? I had to disconnect it before i had this problem because it would lock up the television where i could not change channels of the volume with the remote. The television worked fine for three weeks before i had the problem I am having now. Thank you for any help you can provide.
First of all, shame on LG for not providing support on their product. It sounds like this TV isn't that old. I was just bragging on them to several people this week. Your symptoms sounds like a main board issue. But in order to be sure, proper troubleshooting will need to be done to pinpoint the problem. You will have to pay a diagnosis fee, usually $75 range, but for a 55" late model set, I would say it is worth the money. So sorry to hear this, I'm hearing so many of these late model LED TV's failing left and right.

The problem your describing can be contributed to your cable box. Depending on your cable company there are times when the box has trouble translating the signal to the tv. You tv is operating normally. Suggest to the cable company to switch your box.

There are some inductors that are out of spec. LG's original SB said to replace some of these with a jumper, but it only lasted a couple months.
You need to have the Total Main Assy replaced.

Try One of your working TVS and connect it to your cable outlet of the TV that is having problems. If that TV Does not work then there may be a degraded fitting or the Leg coming of the splitter to that outlet could have a Low Signal Problem
Next Take the First TV that was not working properly and put it on the cable outlet of one of the TVs that is working properly and if the TV set works on that Channel then you know it is not your TV that it must be the cable

This sounds like the power supply that feeds your back-light is going out. This repair should be done by a qualified technician
