I have transferred some Digital 8 cassettes from my old Handycam on to DVD via my LG DR 275 but they will not play on any other device... Including my laptop or other DVD players.
I was asking the same question for the LG DR389 , but couldn't find any help . With time on hand I explored the remote control .
Try HOME , scroll down to a disk , go right and I got FINALISE ,
click and it activates . I can now play my DVD on any player or my PC . Good Luck !

Turn on the unit and open the tray. Press 0000 on the remote to access the DVD region code selector.
Change the EEPRom code to 0 to remove the region lock.
Press Pause to exit the screen and your LG V271 should now be region free.
