Good News! Home Depot sells (on-line only) drawer rollers that work PERFECTLY for the Tunturi Rower machine seat rollers. The only difference is the wheels are nylon instead of rubber. Model Number R7228, Internet Number: 100142874. Item description: ROLLER, W/ 1/4" -20 STUD, 1-1/8" NYLON, BALL BEARING. Control buttons have stopped working
You'll find the battery acid has leaked on the green cable linking the console to the buttons. I wiped down this green cable with water - removing the acid residue and the buttons started working again.

You can get to this cable by unscrewing the plastic fascia. There are six screws on the rear and two on the base of the unit.

Has ceased to recoil
It sound like the return assembly cord has broken. If you mechanically incline then I suggest you pull apart your unit, but take pictures every step of the way until you uncover and inspect the return assembly. If you are not mechanically incline and since I don't know where you are located, go to the Tunturi website and locate your distributor they will be able to help you with parts availability, pricing and locate a servicer for you.

I have a Tunturi R60 rowing machine that when set at about 60 - 70% makes a clunking noise when the cable returns, this completely disappears when the force is dropped.
you may be pulling to fast. causing slack that a faster speed will pick up
