Can't get my wireless printer to receive a signal from the router

I have a perfectly funcitoning wireless router, a wireless-enabled laptop that never loses signal, yet the wireless Lexmark X4650 i bought yesterday just won't pick up the signal to print wirelessly. I've tried re-installing the software twice, and have removed any possible obstructions from the router to the printer - everything's right next to everything else.Any thoughts??

I would take that printer back. I do not know which store you bought it from, but from my troubleshooting experience rule out that it is in fact not the printer. Another one taken through the same paces will tell you that. Then you know that it is something outside that printer or some question or parameter not answered right during the installation process. Good luck and God bless.

CONTINUAL DISCONNECTION OF WIRELESS CONNECTION
There are a few things that can cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router. 1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move the wireless router away from brick or concrete walls, mirrors, fish tanks and if possible locate the wireless router higher up. 2. Have you secured your wireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change the default password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID, and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC address filtering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s to connect to your wireless router. 3. You could be getting interference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers and computers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, better still connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply). 4. Check the channels of the wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcast channel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currently used but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interference with your wireless router from other wireless routers and access points in your area.

The signal from my router to my Samsung blu ray is not strong enough

There are several things you need to consider with wireless connection:
Distance - How far is the Netgear router from the Samsung Blu ray? Try changing the wireless channel on the Netgear router that can help boost the signal. Wireless Security- Have you enabled wireless security on the router? Is it WEP or WPA? Make sure that you input the wireless security key on the Blu Ray player and that you have setup wireless settings correctly.Number of wireless devices - Check the number of wireless devices(laptops, desktops, pda's, etc) connecting to the router as it also weakens the signal. And if wireless security is not enabled on your Netgear router, there's a chance that your neighbor might be connecting to your router via wireless.
You can also test how strong the signal is by placing a wireless laptop on the same location where the blu ray player is. If the laptop gets a weak signal as well, you can try placing the router closer to the blu ray player.

check whether driver for wireless is installed properly in the laptop .To check it navigate the device manager and see device wireless is installed.
The wireless may be sometimes disabled ensure it is enabled.
Then try to search for the wireless signal and connect to it.

I have a new laptop with wireless at home. How do I set up the wireless connection from my zonet router? Victor

By default, wireless routers always broadcast wifi signal. The only thing you need to do is to enable the wifi radio receiver of your laptop. To do it, make sure that you have the wifi LED lit in your laptop which means that your wifi receiver is ON. Now, you need to connect your modem to your router so that your router will then broadcast internet signal. Then you are good to go. Your laptop should get connected automatically and receive internet signal.

If you want to configure your router, visit http://192.168.1.1 when you are connected to the network so that you can change some of your router's behavior.

The router was working perfectly until there was a power outage.

You may have to enable the wireless function on your router. To do that, you need to access the router as an administrator. Make sure your computer has an ethernet cable to connect between it and your router. Open your web browser and type the following into the address bar: http://192.168.0.1 or it is 192.168.1.0 (I can't recall at the moment). The username should be administrator or admin and the password is either blank or the word password. After logging in, you should see some tabs and one should say wireless. It is on this screen where you want to verify that wireless is enabled on the router.
