Use a numbered drill set, measure the jet size using the drill bit set, then select a drill bit two numbered sizes larger and drill out the main jet, that should get you in the ball park. The fuse panel consists of fuses that should not be blown and relays. A test light is a very handy tool to check both sides of the fuses.

Most likely, you have a dial or switch to adjust the brightness of the dash lights. Make sure it is not turned all the way down. Also, on some Chrysler vehicles, you are also able to override (turn off) the overhead interior lights by turning it all the way down, so you can leave doors open without draining the battery. If that is not it, there is a fuse for your dash lights. Refer to your owner's manual for the fuse position in the fuse block, as well as the correct type of fuse and amperage rating.

check brake switch under brake pedal... if not working change it..

The battery is the key. The starters are pretty durable so make sure you a using a charged attery with good contacts. Also, check the fuses, you may have a blown fuse that wil prevent you from turning the starter.

Normally, one goes to the carb, one to the gearbox and one to the battery. What sounds really weird is the diameter of the hoses. Three quarter and one inch diameter? Normally 1/4" to 3/8".
