Zwf16581w water not draining, filter is clean, please help

Even when i use the drain function, I can hear the water in the machine, but alas its not draining out of the machine and hence clothes are soaking wet. Not receiving any error messages.

Thanks folks for all your replies, much appreciated!!
Seems that in testing machine with several washes and each time performing extra draining though manual hose, taking it apart and cleaning pipes has done the trick. Must have been small bits of grit that interfered with the pump.
Still dont think it the clothes are as dry as when i first got the machine (1600 spin), but its still good!
    Thanks again and Happy Holidays!!

SOURCE: Drain pump removal on Zanussi FJR1254 Washing Machine

not easy.suggest you disconnect pump and power up independently as an easy way to check if it runs
easiest way to remove pump - and its awkward - is to undo the 3 screws holding the pump to its housing

SOURCE: zanussi jetsystem 1400 not drainng properly.........

There should be a filter located at bottom front right of washer behind a metal cover.
Press on cover to open, and remove filter by unscrewing anti -clockwise.
Also check outlet pipe is not blocked, more so if it goes into a sink waste connection, if it still leaves water in drum, then there is probably a partial blockage else where, which will require further investigation.
Please leave a fixya rating if my solution solves your problem.
Thankyou.

SOURCE: We went to tumble dry towels but when going back

If you can, lay the drain outlet hose down to floor level, and let the water run into a bucket or similar.
Then check the filter, which should be located at the bottom front right of washer behind drop down flap.
Remove and clean by unscrewing it anti-clockwise.
Hope this helps.

Didn't drain. Won't spin.

Hi Kat, let's see if I can help your with this. The washer will not spin when it senses water inside so we'll start first with the drain. When the machine was finished washing, did you hear the drain pump attempting to discharge water? Try selecting the "Spin Only" or "Rinse and Spin" cycle, you should be able to hear whether or not the drain pump is attempting to operate. If you do hear it running, but the water is not draining, it is possible that the drain filter is clogged. If you need instructions on how to clean the filter let me know. Otherwise, we'll move to the next step.

My bosch dishwasher does not drain the water away, left sitiing in bottom

Hi,

It could either be the filter (most likely), the drain pump (likely) or the drain hose/tube (least likely).

Normally, there would a filter somewhere at the bottom of your washing machine with the primary function of keeping loose clothing, torn fabric, lint, fluff and foreign objects away from the impeller/pump. Most current washing machine have self-cleaning filters and therefore regular cleaning is no longer a concern. However, some other washing machine need to have the filter manually removed and cleaned regularly or as even in your case. If the filter or grate is clogged or blocked with debris, it may interfere with the normal functioning of your washing machine and may cause the problem as you have described; water doesn't leave the tub.

To check the filter and/or the drain pump, the bottom has to be exposed, the filter/pump located and cleaned. In some instances, the drain could be a valve operated by a solenoid.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Model ZWF16581W front load washing machine - displaying 0.00 and beeping as if \r\ncycle ended won't let me start a new cycle. Lock light off door closed but padlock displayed on the digital display....

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(no promises but try this!)
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

My GE washer doesn't drain water.Even after the spin cycle is over, the washer is full of water. Please help.

Either the drain is blocked or your filter is full. Find out where the filter is, usually in front below door or behind panel in front. Clean this out & refit. Plug off the mains first. Check machine filter first & then snake out your drain.

How do you clean pump on whirlpool. 6th sense

Hi

On the bottom right corner of the machine you will have a drain filter.

Flip open the door. It opens vertically from top down.

Please note if your pump is blocked there will be water in the machine which has not drained out. When you twist open the filter anti-clock wise, all the water will gush out. Be prepared for this with towls and mopps. Also open the filter dial, slightly at first and only allow the water to trickle out at first. Once the water is all out, open and pull out the filter. Clean out the flilter and the cavity. Look into the cavity with a torch and make sure everything is clear.
Put back the filter.
Start your machine on the "Drain" cycle only. Check to see if you can hear the water pump working. If there is no noise, then the pump needs further investigation. It may even be faulty.

My front loading GE WASHER WILL NOT DRAIN OR SPIN THIS MACHINE ISN"T VERY OLD WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE?

A common occurance is blockage of the water pump propellers. Check your machine's manual to familiarise yourself with the drain filter.

Please note by openning the filter, the existing water in the machine will drain out on to the floor. Be prepared for this with towls and mops.

Clean out the filter. Use a torch to look into the cavity and make sure nothing has gone through the filter to the pump propellors.

Once the filter is clean and all the water has drained out. Start the machine on spin cycle. If you can hear the water pump working then all should be well. If there is no sound from the water pump, it needs replacing or further investigation by a technician.

Good Luck.

Flashing F and alarm

Based upon your description, the drain pump has either failed or become clogged.
To check the pump, remove the bottom access panel. There you will find access to the pump clean-out.(Large,white screw cap) BE READY TO CATCH LOTS OF WATER. CAREFULLY AND S_L_O_W_L_Y unscrew the pump clean-out, catching and discarding the water. When the water flow finally stops, completely remove the clean-out filter. Inspect the clean-out filter, the drain hose from the tub as well as inside the pump impeller for any additional debris.... Hope this helps
