Looks like it's a snap on foot system. First check to see if there is a button or a release on the back of the foot holder. If so press the button and it will release the foot. If not you get to grasp the toe of the foot when it's in the "up position" and press down. The foot should then snap off the holder.

To put a different foot on, align the little bar on the foot with the carrier's grasper... and lower the presser foot bar so it fits in. Some are more stubborn and require a little pressure to get it to snap on.

Good luck. .

some sewing machines are self oiling some are not, instruction manual should tell,, when a sewing machine breaks needles it very possible that the machine is out of time & only a sewing machine repair shop has the tools to time the machine

Stop and start button and the needle up and down button

have you tried turning it off & then back on again.see if it resets itself.
if that doesn't work see if one of the buttons are hung, if so push on it dislodges. if it's new & none of these things work then I suggest you take it back because the circuit board is mal-functioning.

Start/stop button problem will the machine run on its own

You have to unplug the power cord to the the foot pedal. The manual doesn't include this. And good stinkin luck with Sears or Kenmore customer service! Just pull the cord out of the machine and the start/stop button will work. Try it on a slower setting at first though. Also, if you need additional presser feet, Singer, Brother, Janome, and possibly other brands will usually work as long as they are the snap on type. I really do like my machine, good luck with yours!

Foot control has no power

I've just fixed this problem by replacingthe main capacitor in the foot pedal. I have a Bernina 830. I needed a soldering iron, and I had to buy the right capacitor, but it fixed this exact problem. Btw, a few months ago this problem initially appeared (on my machine) as an issue where the speed was either zero, or full speed). After a white it wouldn't work at all.
