Can't seem to figure out how to change the video inputs on this thing without the remote control???? I've been through the menu 100 times using the buttons on the front of the tv but can't seem to change the inputs!!!! It sure be nice to watch a DVD some day again... Any insight would be appreciated... :-0
If you have lost the remote, go to any electronics store and buy a universal one. I have programmed many generic remote controls, and they all work fine for adjusting the video inputs. Not all television sets allow their video inputs to be switched without the remote. Most likely you will have to buy a replacement.

I purchased a Sylvania television at a yard sale but it had no remote. I am unable to change the inputs as there is no option in the menus to do so. Several Universal remotes were tried with no luck. (Perhaps the receiver is bad as I can't imagine why a "universal" wouldn't work on a major brand like Sylvania.) Changing the channel to below 2 does not roll through the front or rear AV inputs. Autoprogramming even with a signal coming from a DVD player into the A/V jacks doesn't detect the A/V channel. About the only thing left to try is an adapter to the coax jack that can be set for channel 2 or 3 if such a thing even exists anymore. Pity; it has a great picture and doesn't appear to be very old! Looks like no video games or DVD's on this one! (I guess Al Bundy was right, "Yard sales are where idiots sell junk to bigger idiots.")
