It sounds like your freezers' evaporator coils are not defrosting normally.At least once a day ,a refrigerator automatically defrosts the coils in the rear of the freezer compartment.In most cases ,the electric heater that is activated by a timer circuit,comes on and melts any ice buildup .If that heater doesn't come on for several days,the ice builds up into a solid block,and it doesnt allow any air to pass thru to the refrigerator side of you box.
first check all fuses & then make sure you are geting 12v power to & thru the switchs & down to the window motors if knot you may have a broken wire where the door hinges. at the main wires were it comes thru the door
Some of them have a mercury switch that has been bent so it doesn"t make good contact with the liquid mercury. If you can find it you can bend it back. It has to be on the door or an arm under the door or door hinge.
If you know how, you can raise the washer top using a flat knife type of tool to move springs thru the gap between the washer top & the lower front piece. (assuming it's a top loader)
In a front loader it's still near the door.
remve the drip tray , remoe screws , and take panel off. there you will have a solenoid that opens flap . the solenoid may be sticking , if so replace solenoid
Call Maytag. They are aware of the problem. When I called them last year, they sent me a new control board for free, but they didn't provide labor. We got someone out here to install the new board thru our home warranty. We paid $65 for the labor. Not sure how much Maytag will charge.
