Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Camera wont turn on after trying to download pics to computer/can't find pics on computer now

You probably had a bad USB connection that supllied to much voltage (or had a bad ground or reverse polarity) to the camera and shorted out the circuit board. Disconnect all cables. Hook up to a charger and try again. If this does not work, the camera is fried, sorry.

MY CAMERA WANT DOWNLOAD ON MY COMPUTER

Remove the memory card from the camera and place it in a card reader that you can pick up at your local Walmart. This will mount the card as a drive under My Computer.

Canon PowerShot S2 IS

ASSUMING it worked just fine before AND you have made no changes to the PC software (Microsoft Update ? ) then it sounds like to bad cable .. however this does seem very unlikely ... see if you can check by borrowing a cable from a friend ... or take the Camera back to the shop where you bought it and ask them to help you by showing you how to download pics ...(do NOT pick a 'spotty youth' on a busy Saturday to do this .. look for older staff on a nice slow Tuesday afternoon to get more co-operation :-) )
