When the flash memory USB hard drive device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash or USB hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Healthy.
NOTE Formating the USB flash drive will delete your data.

Try troubleshooting option for the drive and see the drivers.

If it says that ur device either doesn't have or doesn't require drivers then ur device is dead and get it replaced.

I think, only this is ur problem.

If you bought your kingston 2 gb flash drive from over the internet there is nothing that you can do but buy another one i.e. Ebay there are alot of counterfit flash drivers sold out of ebay and when you forma5t the flash drive you find the true size of the drive
IF you bought it from the store and formated your flash drive then there is something can do which is go onto kingstons website and you can download there flash drives format program and correct the bit size to show the correct size again.

If you are using Windows 98 (SE) it isn't supported. Otherwise try the drive in other USB ports on the back of your computer. Install the latest Service Pack for your OS. Verify that the drive is not defective by trying it in a different computer.

check in your BiOS and make sure all USB functions are enabled.

Next you could remove your USB hub in windows Hardware Mangler (Manager) and reboot and let windows reload those drivers.

Then plug the flash drive back into the USB port and see if it works any better.
