The printer doesn't recognize the new original HP color cartridge

The printer displays : "insert color Printer Cartridge in Left Stall" message.
After I proceeded to insert an HP Tri-color Print cartridge (97), the printer still displays the same message as before " insert color Printer Cartridge in Left Stall" as the printer does not see the cartridge that I installed.

I replaced the cartridges before and worked fine. The black cartridge has no problem.

Note: The cartridge was installed correctly and I used original brand new cartridges which I bought from Office Depot.

There is a small spring that holds the ink cartridge in the ink holder. You will see it stick out from the right hand side of the ink holder where the ink cartridge slides in. If that spring isn't being held to the ink holder by two plastic tabs, (I.E. the plastic tabs are broken) the printer will never recognize the cartridge. If the printer is still under warranty I would contact HP or an authorized repair center for HP. Both the black and color ink holder has this spring. I know of no way to repair this kind of breakage.

Have a suggestion: i have the officejet j6400 wirless: when i replaced my color ink cartridge and told it to do a test page/allignment it told me the color cartridge was not installed. I canceled, check, everything was installed correctly, closed the lid and just sent a print command and everything worked properly. I think, with mine their might be a fault/misread in the instalation, but it works fine, now it tells me level of ink and all. That is the best i can tell you, just faulty information on the mechanical side. Have you tried just putting in and printing? Hope that helps you out if not sorry i couldnt give you more advise.

I do not want to use color cartridge in my hp psc 2410 printer. But without installing this cartridge, the printer is not working

Inkjet printer require both cartridges to be installed and have ink to go online. There is no way to bypass this function. If the printer does not detect the cart when it tries to perform a head clean cycle you get the error you have displayed on the screen. All inkjet printers are like this not just HP.

Print cartridge in right stall not supported for hp 2410

Print cartridge is a knock off. Cartridges have printed circuits in them that the printer can recognize as being the original replacement. This is to keep people from using other products in their printer, which I think is foul, since you paid for the printer and it technically belongs to you. Sometime HP will make cartridges with faulty circuits that the printer will not recognize.. If that is the case call them and demand a new ink cartridge.

Welcome to Fixya

This means the the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error. Make sure that you are using original HP cartridges.

Please see troubleshooting procedure below:
  1. Remove the color cartridge from the left stall (which has a blue latch) and refasten the latch. Leave the other cartridge in place.
  2. Close the printer, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then look at the LCD display.
    • If the LCD display reads Insert Color Cartridge in Left Stall , the color cartridge may be causing the problem. Follow the steps below:
      1. Clean the color cartridge contacts. Click here to see how.
      2. Reinsert the color cartridge into the carriage and close the blue latch.
      3. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      4. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the color cartridge.
    • If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , follow the steps below:
      1. Reinsert the color cartridge.
      2. Remove the black or photo cartridge, depending on which one is installed in the right stall. The right stall has the gray latch. Be sure to refasten the latch on the empty stall.
      3. Clean the black or photo cartridge contacts.
      4. Reinsert the black or photo cartridge.
      5. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      6. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the black or photo cartridge.
  3. If replacing cartridges fails to correct the problem, click the link at the top of this page to contact HP.

Cartridge Errror

How to Reset an HP Inkjet Cartridge
Hi there
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
Adhesive tape

HP inkjet cartridge can be refilled easily, getting it to work again in the printer is another matter.
The contacts on the back of the cartridge are programmed to read the ink level, but they don't reset for the printer just because you add more ink.
You must get the printer to recognize the cartridge as new.
You can do this easily if you have two other old cartridges, or you can manipulate the contacts on the refilled cartridge.

Step 1
Insert the cartridge you refilled into the HP Printer.
Have the printer print an alignment page, thus recognizing the cartridge. The printer will still read the ink level as where it was before you refilled it.
Step 2
Remove the cartridge from the printer and replace it with another old cartridge.
Have the printer print an alignment page with this cartridge so it recognizes it as a different cartridge from the first one.
Step 3
Replace the second cartridge with a third one and run the same alignment page.
Because the printer only retains the memory of two Print Cartridges, it will erase the memory of the first (refilled) cartridge.
Step 4
Insert the refilled cartridge into the printer.
The printer will now recognize the cartridge as being full.

Next Steps
Step 1
Tape over the contact squares on the top left corner of the cartridge's contacts. Insert the cartridge into the printer and run an alignment page. Ignore any messages that might appear saying there is a problem with the cartridge.
Step 2
Take the cartridge out of the printer. Remove the tape from the left corner and tape over the contact squares on the top right corner. Place the cartridge backs in and run another alignment page.
Step 3
Remove and reinsert the cartridge, this time with no tape on any of the contacts. Check to see if the printer recognizes the cartridge as being full.
Step 4
Repeat the above steps if the cartridge is still shown as being empty.
This time, use the bottom corner contact squares instead of the top ones. If you are still unable to reset the cartridges, using multiple cartridges is likely the only way to do it.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); }); All I ask is to call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

Printer says to insert black print cartridge in right stall

Refer to printer manual as some of them require you to reset the software to accept new cartridge.

Manual here if you do not have one

Printer still displays "insert black printer cartridge in right stall" after inserting the correct cartridge in the correct stall.

Hi:

Sometimes HP printers are finicky about cartridge installs. Take a damp paper towel, and clean the contact strip on the back side of your cartridge, then dry it off. Gently clean the contacts in the printer cartridge stall, with an old toothbrush....Gently!
Repeat till you get the cartridge to get recognized!

Dell 926 won't recognize new color cartridge

Try this...shut down the printer. Insert new cartridge, let the printer cycle out with new cartridge. then reboot the computer. This should solve the problem. The cache in the printer will not cycle out. It wants to see the printer as a new entity
