I am running my Engel MT45F G4 S on cool ( about 8 degrees) with fruit in it. Water is constantly pooling in the base. Is this normal?
If the freezer is on top then empty out the freezer and remove the bottom and back liner of the freezer compartment usually phillips screws. In the back you will see the freezer coils along with a defrost element. Below these two items u will see a drip tray that collects water from the coils on defrost cycle, in the center of the pan will be a drain hole that connects to a hose that leads to a pan under the refrigerator.Normally the water is collected there and evaporated. The hole in the tray in the freezer is clogged. Thaw it and clean it until you can pour water in it and it goes to the pan down below. please rate me
I have a Panasonic American fridge freezer (NR-B53VW1-WB) and I get pooling in the bottom of the fridge too. The solution is not easy. In a normal fridge you can see a little drain hole at the back.. this is not visible or easily accessible for some fridges like mine. The drain hole is hidden behind two layers of plastic some of which has wires through to power leds and fans etc. you have to very carefully remove enough by unscrewing and gently pulling to get at the hole right at the back back. Then unblock this using either a wire or a long cable tie (my pref). Scoop out any gunk and then using a shoot (I cut the bottom off a bottle to make one) add boiling water and a tiny bit of washing up liquid. (Note: you may want to check your evap tray at the back before pouring too much down!). When cleaned and clear reassemble. You may also be able to get your cable tie up from the back but the tray in my case was full of gunk needing clearing too! Yes in the images it’s hard to see the hole.. it is that restricted without stripping more wiring out. Good luck!!!
Your Refrig/freezer should be set as follows:
Refrigerators: 36 to 40 degrees. Ideal temp is 37 Fahrenheit. Note: A temp above 42 degrees promotes bacteria.
Freezer: temp should be -5 to 6 degrees Fahrenheit. Ideal temp is 0 degrees.
Then check the door seals around the edges to see if any splits, tears or cracks have messed up the seal. This will cause your compressor to constantly run as it's trying to cool off the warm house is being sucked into the freezer (or Refrig). A sure sign the door seals are damaged is lots of ice in the freezer door area or water pooling in the bottom area of the refrigerator.
Wait about 4 hrs after you readjusted the Refrigerator/Freezer settings so everything settles down. If you still have problems then the coolant may need to be serviced (topped off) or the motor serviced/checked.
Don't procrastinate because a water heater and Refrig/freezer are the 2 largest energy users in your home- they run 24 hrs a day.
Hope this helps...
