My symphonic television wont play DVDs

I'm not sure exactly what version it is but I got it in 2007. I just have it to watch movies.. I have a older DVD player and a blue ray one but I have absolutely no remote! I can't afford a new one either. I just have the DVD player hooked up to the tv with the red, white, and yellow cord thing. The only buttons on the TV are the volume, channels, menu, and power. I also can't figure out how to work the channels... They don't go up or down unless a do a bunch of stuff to make them...

Why is it that sometimes I can watch DVDs on Windows Media Player and sometimes not?

Some movies are encoded with a protection the Disc acts as if you are tempting to copy the write protected dvd. you can get a program for free called shrink dvd that will remove the protection and copy the movie to your Pc so you can watch it.

How do i set my Toshiba ct-90157 remote to watch dvd's

Most DVD players are connected to one of the rear audio/video inputs--hook to that input and select it on the TV--then hit play and if connected correctly you will see the movie.

Dvd-l200

It depends how you burn movies (for example). If you burned as data disc, it's probably won't play it. Make sure you burn movies as DVD format.

How do I watch a movie?

You're going to have to be a lot more specific. What kind of DVD player do you have?

Make sure the unit is plugged into the wall and the television.
Make sure that your DVD is, in fact, a DVD and not a Blu-Ray disc.

If your computer won't play DVDs and you think it might be a software issue, try downloading VLC Media Player (a program that will play most video files and DVDs).

Philips HTS3565D dvd player, recent Paramount DVDs (Star Trek and Transformers 2) freeze during the Paramount DVD introduction at the exact same spot: as the stars are flying in toward the camera's view....

I have the same problem, though I don't recall which exact movies. They were all from Blockbuster. Sometimes they start to play and then halt at the end of track 1 and sometimes don't even make it tot he menu. The same movie will play on our portable dvd player. A Philips rep told me about 6 weeks ago it was a problem with a new security feature on some movies and to watch the website for a possible firmware upgrade to fix it. Now you can't even talk to someone at Philips so I don't know what to think. The "live chat" folks just want to tell you to take it to a repair shop - not much help there.

Dvd DOES NOT PLAY MOVIES AND UNABLE TO LOAD GAME SOFTWARE

The standard version has Windows Vista® Home Basic Edition SP1. This version do not have native support for decoder to watch DVD movies. Install a good DVD player like WinDVD or any other DVD player software. This will install the necessary decoder. Once this is done even if the installed trial version expire, your windows media player will still play the movies. However, if you like the software, make it fully licensed version on-line. Hope this helps.

PS2 wont play DVD movies!

Hi. It seems that you might have an old version of the PS2.

The original PS2's had a problem with the laser that read CDs and DVDs, often failing, creating problems with reading DVDs and in rare cases, CDs.

Unfortunately, the class action lawsuit filed against Sony is too old to get yours fixed for free, but there are ways to attempt to fix the laser yourself, if you would rather not send it in to Sony.

If you have any other questions, respond and I'll help you the best I can.

Good Luck!
