Hello,

Sorry for the delay. I've been away from my computer for a bit.

Now, when you say adapter, do you mean a Digital TV converter box? If that is the case, then the plot thickens. If you have cable, the pay to watch service locally, you shouldn't need that converter box at all. The only people that will be affected by the Digital Changeover are the ones who have only an antenna on top of their houses. Just continue to watch your cable as you have done in the past.

If I am mistaken, let me know. I'm just clarifying your situation a little so I can help you the best way possible.

HowDo I hook up a Nintendo game system to a HD tv?

I would assume you mean a Super Nintendo or Original Nintendo or N64 the answer is yes. Most TVs have a TV option or Coaxial or Aux input setting you just need to set the TV up to that setting and plug your console in. If your TV doesn't have the old fashion cable plugin or the proper plugins on the back of your tv you will need to get an adapter I recommend amazon. Coaxial to HDMI run about 20-30 dollars and composite adapters run about 10-20 dollars

How can I set a tv to antenna mode in order to receive digital channels?

It depends on the TV. First make sure that the active Input is TV. On some TVs, you may need the original remote or an universal remote that has an Input or Source button (and a code that enables that function for your TV). Some TVs have the Input or Source button on the TV as well or a Menu option to change inputs.

Next enter the On-screen Menu and find a Channel or TV setting option. In that sub-menu, you will find a Source option. (It may give the choices of Air or Cable.) After you set that to the Air, you'll need to scan for channels.

Please add a comment with the model of your TV for additional assistance. I hope this generic comment helps.

Can a magnavox smart Tv surf the web?

Philips Magnavox has designed televisions offering a number of different features and options that provide users optimal viewing experience and facilitate ease of use.
One such feature found in certain models is known as Smart Surf.
Smart Surf

The Smart Surf feature allows the user to store previously viewed channels as a series of select favorites, and to surf between those channels by repeatedly pressing the "Surf" button on the television's remote control.
The user can also delete the channels stored in this group and add different ones at a later time.
Stored Channels, TVs
The maximum number of channels that can be saved in the Smart Surf feature varies by model. Some (including the 13MT143S and 20MS233S) allow five, some (TS2554C) allow eight, and some (MX2797B) up to 10.
This feature is found mainly on older CRT TVs, as the the channel search and selection options in LCD TVs and/or their connected digital cable/satellite set-top receiver boxes have made it unnecessary.
Usage
Select a channel, either by using the "CH+" or "CH-" buttons or entering the channel's number. Press "Surf" while the channel number is displayed and press the right arrow button to add that channel. Press "Surf" repeatedly to scan through the saved channels.
To remove a channel, press "Surf" and the right arrow key again while the channel number is displayed.

Surf the Web on Your TV
As the technology that brings us the Internet merges more and more with the technology that brings us traditional television content, we will find ourselves watching TV shows on the computer and watching Internet content on our TV sets.
There are several ways to get Internet on your TV, though most may not be as satisfying as actually using your computer to surf the Web.
Connect TV to Laptop as Second Monitor
Connect your TV and your laptop computer using an S-video cable.
Connect the audio using a component audio cable with red and white connectors.
If your laptop doesn't have component audio, use an adapter that transfers the signal from both cables into one connector, which will plug into the headphone jack on your laptop.

Choose the input mode on the TV that corresponds to the type of connection you are using. Press the monitor button on your laptop.
This is probably a combination of the shift key and one of the function keys.

Tweak the monitor connections under "Display Settings" if necessary.
Choose a low resolution for the TV, which should show up as a second monitor. Select "Advanced Options" in the Display Settings box and choose "generic TV" as the monitor type.

You should now have the option to see items on your TV.
The TV will either have the same icons on both the laptop screen and the TV, or you can choose "extend the desktop onto this monitor" in Display Settings, and then drag items to the TV from the laptop screen.
You will be able to see the Internet and control things using the controls on the laptop.

TV with Internet Capability

Connect your TV to the Internet according to the TV manufacturer's instructions.
TVs with this type of port include Panasonic VIERA, Sharp LC series and Panasonic TC-PS1 series.

Navigate the menu using the TV remote and following any instructions in the TV manual relating to using the Internet.
Select the desired content and watch it.

Be aware that this type of TV may only show Internet content provided by websites and companies that have partnered with the TV manufacturer for inclusion.

Internet-enabled Game Console

Connect the game console to the TV and ensure there is a wireless Internet connection available. Alternatively, connect an Ethernet cable directly to the game console.

Using the game controller, choose the Internet channel. You can surf using a menu or enter a website URL with a virtual keyboard, or you can attach a USB keyboard to the game console.

Results may vary and this will not be as satisfying as surfing the Internet using a computer, but some websites will work well and all should be accessible.

Set-top Box

Connect a set-top box, such as a Roku, Sony Bravia, or NetGear ITV2000 to your TV.

Make sure a high-speed Internet connection is available.
This may be accessed wirelessly or through an Ethernet cable connected to the set-top box.

Select from the menu to choose content. Be aware that this option, like the Internet TV option, may limit you to content from providers that partner with the box manufacturers, and that you may not be able to use the entire Internet.

Only getting blue screen on both tvs. one keeps saying no signal but have checked all cables but cant solve prblem. other tv says scan channels but i have scanned channels.

New TV's or new problem? If these are new TV's it could be that they are set on something other than the Cable Input Option.

On your remote press the input button to get an onscreen menu and set them to cable.

Otherwise, if you installed these yourself recently, recheck all connections to make sure they are set up correctly, using the manuals that came with the TVs. My guess is that you may have connected them incorrectly to/from the cable input device.

If these are not new TVs and this is a new problem, take a look at your outside cable box. Occasionally one can have a problem with an input cable. If that is the case, the cable company needs to be called to replace or repair.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Connect my aspire 5332 to my digital tv

There are a few things that need to present or applicable for this to work.

First off you need to have either a HDMI cable that can be plugged into your TV( tv and laptop must have one for this option to work). And you'd need to have the channel on your TV set to which ever channel recieves HDMI input.

Second you could have a monotor cable with two ends to attach to your laptop and TV as well as an audio cable like you get for computer speakers to have a line in and a line out, you may need an adapter for the video, usually with newer tvs like my 25.5" LCD HDTV from Samsung they provided this cable and a adapter. After they are connected you'd still have to set the channel to the correct one for the input to receive a picture from your laptop for example my tv channel for my PC is called DVI and my HDMI connection is HDMI 1

If you dont have either of those then you would need an S video cord and a audio cord with it to connect your output (from laptop) to the input hole (into tv) for this to work. And the channel would have to correctly set again.

If none of these help please post in more detail.
