This can be caused by more frequent door opening, leaky door gaskets or ice dispenser door not closing or any thing that would allow more air to get into the freezer or fridge.
The door gaskets should close snug enough that it will hold a dollar bill when you shut the door on it.
The problem is a buildup of ice on the plastic housing (the curved plastic bit) in the back of the freezer under the fixed shelf where the icetub goes. The fan behind this plastic housing is hitting the ice when the defrost comes on.
Unplug the fridge, unpack the freezer, remove the four screws in the back, take off the sheetmetal backing and let the fridge thaw. You can remove the plastic piece after a while and get the ice off (be careful not to remove the styrofoam insulation by going too quickly).
Reassemble and you're back in business, for a few months. I'm never buying Samsung again myself.
Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if
there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not
defrosting as it should.
possible causes:
bad defrost timer
bad defrost heater (in freezer)
bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice
melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if
is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above
items.
Without knowing the type of fridge(side by side, freezer on top etc.) all I can offer is this: Somewhere between the freezer and the fridge there's an opening thermostatically controlled to transfer cold air from freezer to the fridge. Most have a fan to move the air. So either the fan (if so equipped) stopped, and need to replace, or opening is stuck closed, or plugged. If freezer is working fine, this is the only problem I can think of. Hope this helps
you could find ice behind the back panel - worth a check. however the problem is probably ice in the return vent from fridge to freezer and the only way to cure is to switch off and leave for a day with doors open. if im right and you try this, if it re-occurs you may have a problem with the defrost system
