I have a Brother MFC-295cn. I first ran out of blue ink. I replaced it and it was working fine. Then it started printing out blank paper. it goes through the motions but paper comes out blank. Anyone knows the problem?

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

On your printer take a look on the "ink management button"press it then look for cleaning using the arrows up and down then press ok or set or what ever the command the printer will display just try to perform head cleaning.try for several times lets say 4x don't clean too much it might ruin all other color if it has no changes try to bring it to a service center, they can soak it to a chemical solution, the head is clog.

SOURCE: Printing blank pages

Did you run the cart initialization?
Try this: (use new carts because it consumes some ink)
press menue then start mono (blue) then fourtimes arrow up button (tel-index). machine will be in maintenance mode and lights will flash. press 7 then 6 then 4 then start mono. machine will refill tubes and ph with freh ink and do some cleaning.
Leave maintenace by pressing 9 then 9. Do run a quality test print by pressing ink etc. Iy you cant see the letters and colored blocks well the ph has to be replaced.
I guess your machine is a 2.5 years old. Unfurtunately brother ph didnt last longer than that time when useing generic ink.

Where is the ink absorber on mfc-295cn brother printer

CLOGGED PRINT HEAD: use an alcohol windex solution on a folded paper towel under print head. I let it soak for ~2 hrs to unclog head. I found details and a video by using google

Mfc 295cn won't print black

I've tried everythin. The only thing that really worked is to set paper type to transparency. This means no head failure but something else.

I have a Brother MFC 240C printer that will not print black ink. I just changed all the cartridges. All the other cartridges print. I ran the clean cycle many times. No error messages just blank paper.

I have a brother MFC 3240C. My Black ink stopped printing(initially printed horizontal faded lines and gradually got worse), the other colors were printing fine. I tried cleaning numerous time( 50 -100 times over 1-2 weeks ). Still no improvement. The way I print now is:
1. I go to Printer Properties
2. Change Media type from "Plain Paper" to "Inkjet Paper".
3. Change Quality to "Photo".

This takes a long time to print 1-2 minutes per page. However, this works for me since this is my Home printer and use it for printing only few pages here are there.

Good Luck

Brother MFC 4420C prints plain sheets of paper.

To start ensure that is not a software problem.
Go to Control Panel >> Installed Printers. Remove the printer. Install the printer again using the software disk or downloading the driver software from Brother website.
If that does not fix the problem, and the printer prints blank sheets, then it is usually a clogged printhead.
The printheads can be cleaned removing the ink carriage and soaking it in isopropyl alcohol overnight. If that does not work, then the printhead must be replaced.

My MFC-440CN

Yes, an empty ink cartridge will prevent the printer from functioning.
Not all printers will do this, but the Brother MFC series will not print if any one of the cartridges are empty. Replace the cartridge and all should be fine.
