SOURCE: inglis clothes dryer heats up but drum doesn't

The way to visually see if the belt has broken or not is to 1) unplug the dryer. 2) Remove the lint screen on the top of the dryer. 3) take the two phillips head screws out where the lint trap is. 4) with a flat head screwdriver pop the top of the dryer up by sliding the driver inbetween the top and front of the dryer and pry upwards a little. 5) You'll now see the drum, if the belt is not around it its broken, and if it's visible try to lift it. If it taught, its good. IF THE BELT IS BROKEN OR LOOSE CONTINUE TO NEXT STEPS 6) on the left and right upper inner sides of the dryer you will find two screws, one on each side, remove these and the front should be easlily remove. 7) once off you'll be able to easily see the motor, the belts idler pulley, and everything else.

Why won't my inglis dryer heat up

if electric? check ur thermal shut off and thermistor with a multimeter. does it run at all? if it does it wont be thermal shut off but may be ur heating element? is it gas or electric? Gas? 1. may need to check ur coils which regulate the flow of gas, ? 2. CHECK Igniter which ignites the flame, or 3. CHECK THE glow bar. there are also thermostats on the heating eleemt you will want to check with a multimeter. the thermal cutoff, the hi-lo thermostat and the element itself.

There are limit switches that controlling the tempature of the element check for continuity

Inglis Dryer by Whirlpool blows only cold air

check your thermal fuse and your heating element. You'll have to open the back of the dryer, but it's pretty easy to fix.

Inglis ip80000 electric dryer wont start.. was running but stopped and now wont start

You probably blew the thermal fuse. Here is the part to order.
Remove the back panel and the fuse is located on the bottom left side.

INGLIS DRYER MODEL IP82000 RUNNING BUT NO HEAT.

Check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.(((((Most common issue)))))

Inglis Dryer

You really need a volt / ohm meter to check for Continuity & Volts

Its well worth the investment... $15.00 bucks give or take a few

I would check to see if you have 220v to back of dryer where the cord mounts to dryer,

If dryer is getting only 1 leg 110 volts instead of the 220 will it not heat.

Check themostates & heater for Continuity... Most models, Now have a.. Hi-limit fuses that need to be checked for Continuity
