Re: I have a 1995 Toy State Industrial Ltd. Christmas...
Can I ask a question? I have a christmas toy train set and the wheels turn fine till I put them on the track and then they don't seem to want to turn , and yes I have it on the track. there are to looks like rubber bands on the front wheels, looks like for traction, can anyone help help!!!!.
is there a way to make wooden tracks for this inflatable to sit . all you would have to do is measure the distance between the wheels and the cut the lumber and screw together. i would use 2 x 4 x 8 feet long . and cut the braces just the right lenght so the train would sit on the track. you could even paint the rails gray or silver and the braces black to off set the colors of the train it self .

Check the wheel rubbers and track. In case if rubbers on the wheels of engine are deteriorated, it happens. Similarly if track is oily same happens. Try running engine only. If it moves, then add wagons one by one.
The required, (but not included), 4 "C" size batteries fit inside the coal car. One "AA" size battery goes in the pump car, (which has a lantern light, besides the pumping soldier), and 3 "AA" size batteries are needed for the remote control. There are separate switches on the engine, the coal car and the pump car to activate all the features of the train. The directions are explained on the remote control devise.
Not sure what you mean by "everything works buy I can't make it move".Well, it can be several things. If you are sure the batteries are good, contacts clean and there is a little movement of the wheels when turned on, then it needs cleaning of the gears and some lubrication. Alcohol will clean it, use a little brush. There is a light grease sold in hobby shops for train's plastic gears. Or you can use a drop of any light oil, like for sewing machines.
Sometimes motor can be stuck, needs to be turned and soaked/cleaned with alcohol.
If it seams that motor is not getting power/voltage, you would need to get voltmeter and trace the voltage from the batteries through the wires and switch, to the motor.
Seams that you would need to open it/put it apart. If you do it carefully, you don't really need a manual.

If you can't fix it, and you think engine is bad, search eBay for it, there are some engines and cars, individually, for sale. Items found similar to Toy State Christmas Magic Express Train Music...
I have the same issue. Run fine on the floor. Doing a little research and I believe the wheels need replacement rubber bands. Which gives them traction. Haven't figured out where to get the replacement s
I wish I could help - I have exactly the same problem! Train opened Christmas Day, worked ok. Batteries seemed to gradually die 2-3 days later. Replaced all 3 sets of batteries twice, but nothing. Initially I got sounds, but nothing now.
