Apple Ipod isnt recognized on computer

We have another Apple Ipod Nano in the house that works fine with same computer, but my nano isn't recognized when plugged into USB port. I have tried other USB cords, and other computers. I can't download any new songs.

That is only some what true , you can sync w/outher computers ,but you have to reset your ipod to the new itunes ,and you will lose all you have ( music, pic.s & ect.) on your ipod ,so you will start over, every time you sync w/ a different pc & itunes.

You can only sync one ipod with one computer so if you put music on it already it will only work with the original computer you synced it with. Same with ANY ipod.

I plugged in my i pod and came back a hour later and the screen was black and was frozen and none of the buttons would work

you will need to reset your ipod this will not delete songs. 1 Toggle the Hold switch on and off (slide it to HOLD and then back again).
2 Press and hold Menu and the Center button for at least 6 seconds, until the
Apple logo appears.
If iPod nano won’t turn on or respond
â Make sure the Hold switch isn’t set to HOLD.
â The iPod nano battery might need to be recharged. Connect iPod nano to your
computer or to an Apple USB Power Adapter and let the battery recharge. Look for
the lightning bolt icon on the iPod nano screen to verify that iPod nano is receiving
a charge.
To charge the battery, connect iPod nano to a USB 2.0 port on your computer.
