Apple Ipod isnt recognized on computer

i dont have the software cd for my nano, its old and i cant download music, it isnt recognized by my computer

you will need to reset your ipod this will not delete songs. 1 Toggle the Hold switch on and off (slide it to HOLD and then back again).

To charge the battery, connect iPod nano to a USB 2.0 port on your computer.

Unless you want to reset it and sync it to another computer, you can't. Sorry.

try resetting the ipod..hold the menu and center button until the apple logo comes up

You have to reset your iPod. (Note: This is for the 3rd generation iPod Nano)

hi :) well, maybe your nano needs to get updated to your computer. and the last part of your question, it always makes two sounds when you connect any ipod to a computer :) hope this helps :)

As stated in several o the previous posts the battery was completly drained. I recharged for a full day and it woks fine.

Install the drivers for your ipod specified. Try changing the USB cord as next solution.
