Here is the scenario...we have a Comcast Modem (SMC Networks - Business Class service). The modem feeds a Netgear N750 Router (to provide wifi to the office) and that in-turn feeds a Netgear FS116 Switch. WIFI gives me 16-22 Ping, 16-18 Mbps DL, and 2.5-3.5 Mbps UL. Direct Connect (CAT5 Ethernet Cord) gives me about the same +/- 1 Mbps. We are using RingCentral.com as our Cloud Provided VOIP phone service and using Polycom 335 IP phones. When connecting the CAT5 ethernet cord to the IP phone the phone will not recognize the network. Can anyone provide insight as to why the phone won't connect to download the sip/setup code? If there are any suggestions, I am open to hearing them, as I want to avoid getting a network technician on-site. Furthermore, the IP phones had been working fine in the old office, working off the same model of Comcast modem, but a Cradlepoint MBR1400 router and no switch.

As you have probably found, SIP phones are not supported until R5, which just came out.

On the phone, press the menu button, then status, then IP status or whatever and get the phone's IP address. Write the ip address down. On your computer, open up a web browser and input the phone's IP address into the address bar and press enter. This should arrive you at the web gui for that phone. It'll probably ask you for login credentials; by default, the name is "Polycom" (yes , it is case-sensetive) and the password is 456. Once you are logged in, you should see several links like "General" "Network" "Sip" and "Lines". click on Lines. under "line 1", you will see the configuration for that line. simply duplicate the entries for lines 2, 3, and 4.

Gene,
The computer connectors are so designed that only the correct can be connected to the correct socket. So if it fits it is meant for that socket.
At boot up please press F2 and enter the BIOS. Here look for Boot up sequence. Your PC seems to the set to boot up from a LAN server. Change it to HDD.
You do need a router. Whether a wired or a wireless is your choice.
