Now, launch Yahoo Messenger and press the "Get a Yahoo! ID" button so we can start the registration process.

In this window you need enter your personal data. After you do that, (oh yeah, you guessed it) just click that next button.

If you receive a message which says: "The connection to your yahoo account can not be established at this time", don't worry. Just check your mail inbox and you'll see a mail from Yahoo asking you to verify your account.

Click on the link in your mail which will guide you onto a secure Yahoo webpage. Enter your password and then press the verify button.

That's it. You are done. Now you can log onto your account by opening Yahoo Messenger and signing in with your ID and password.

When a message states that way it just means that you entered either the username or the password incorrectly.If you tried it several times and still didn't work.Try to click the link in the yahoo sign in page that says forget password.Then it will bring you to another screen that requires you to enter the security question and answer you chose when signing up your yahoo mail..If you can't remember those ,you need to sign up another one and don't forget to remember the information you entered when signing up your yahoo mail..Hope this helps.

But no worries, it's a normal security precaution which will eventually locked the account to prevent the unauthorized user from getting in successfully. This lock down usually will last 24hours after the failed attempts made by the unauthorized user. Go to this main Yahoo! logging site & insert the correct ID & password of your account. The first attempt may prove failure, second attempts will lead you to the "word verification system" which is to make sure that you are not "bots". Follow all those procedures provided by Yahoo!. 48hours after visiting that Yahoo! main logging site, your account should return as normal.
**NOTE: Remember to clear out your ID every time signing out of any sites that preserve your personal informations such as Facebook, Yahoo! Messenger @ Mail & etc. to prevent them from being hack or so.

Try uninstalling Yahoo Messenger then downloading it again:

Click on: Start
Click on: Control Panel
Click on: Add/Remove Programs
Click on: Yahoo Messenger then remove

Restart your PC

Again download and install.

go to this site https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2?&.src=ym and find a create new account lower right portion and then follow the procedure of signing up. Make sure you remember all information that you provide by signing up yahoo mail.

Open Yahoo Messenger and at the very bottom, click on the "forgot password" link and follow their steps to reset your password for your yahoo account. Once that is done try signing in again. Cheers!
