Microwave (just bought from Asda's) cooks fine but keeps cutting out randomly whilst cooking food. Set it on full power for 6mins and it will cook for about 2mins before automatically cutting off - only to automatically start up again 5mins later. Checked manual but no answer..... Can you advise ? ? ?
This is normal. That's why I always recommend to my customers that the food be placed slightly off-center on the turntable. An analogy I refer to is stirring paint: If you stir paint with a stick by simply rotating the stick in the center of the can, it's far less effective than pulling the stick around an imaginary circle halfway bewteen the center and the edge.

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:
- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose conneciton on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part
If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

I tried a solution posted on another posting http://www.fixya.com/support/t242480-stops_cooking by placing the conductive plastic behind the control panel and it worked.

Replace the fuse with a ceramic fuse from Home depot! costs less than $3 and it will fix the problem. I had all the same problems as everyone else, you name it my microwave had it! you must remember replace it with a ceramic fuse! not a glass one. I know people say its the switchboard and all that nonsence but I promise you, the fuse plays a majoe roll in the microwave not working properly. Even though it doesnt look broken, a junky fuse can cause your appliance to do very strange things. I replaced mine 6 months ago and it works like its fresh out of the box.
