The laptop wireless is on, yes. The wireless access point is on, yes. I'm confused, how does a "different modem/routers and both come back saying cannot detect wifi please turn on your switch"? Did you COLD START your laptop? Are you using the windows program to connect to wireless, when you do a search for available wireless networks you get nothing? Are the wireless access points connected to a Modem, Cable/DSL..etc?The laptop wireless is on, yes. The wireless access point is on, yes. Push the reset button on the wireless access point and hold, 30 sec., to return to default settings. Allow the device to self test, plug in the laptop to the AC outlet, without battery, reboot.Push the reset button on the wireless access point and hold, 30 sec., to return to default settings. The Toshiba Satellite has a helpful program -- the Toshiba Wireless Manager -- to eliminate some of that frustration. Connecting to a wireless network using the built-in wireless usb wifi adapter on a Toshiba Satellite may require making some initial changes to the Satellite's settings. These changes can be made using the Toshiba Wireless Manager. As with all wireless networking, the settings of the laptop must match the settings of the network.
Hi,
Please make sure that you have turned on the wireless switch on your laptop because this is a message that usually appears if the wireless on the laptop is disabled. Also please update the wireless drivers for your laptop from the Toshiba website.
Thank you for your time and best wishes for your effort.
no need to buy an adaptor as this laptop is wirless, there should be a switch to turn on the wireless capability, also look on the f keys for the wireless logo if you find it then try pressing it while holding down the fn key,or shift
Not enough info per problem description. Not all 1900 series laptops have wireless cards installed, and not all 1900 series laptops are ready to handle wireless cards, either. Need to know what model your computer is, what wireless card you're using, ... C'mon. Let's have it...
Not wireless ready - as none of the 2805's were ever pre-wired with wireless card antennas. You can install a PCMCIA wireless card, or use a USB wireless adapter. Either one will work - the PCMCIA cards will be faster.
lets get the picture right. laptop connects to a wireless router. then u want to plug into laptop ethernet wan port of linksys ? you have to set router manual settings to gateway which is ip of toshiba... this is a fun topic. ive connected xbox360 to laptop this way.. never tried router. "fun times ahead!"
