Replace the roller on my Kirby Vacuum Generation 3
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. In order to replace the brushroll on the Kirby G3 you need to dial off the belt and then release the lever to remove the bell housing, then there are 2 levers that you need to open then you can get @ the brushroll --- take out the brushroll and replace the brushroll and a new belt – make sure you change the belt every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning. Make sure when you put the new belt in the housing that the screw heads are facing down – then you can replace the bottom plate, dial the belt on to the belt pulley and replace the bell housing. If you need further help please refer to a local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Change my belt on a Fantom vacuum model number is f1420gf

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The belt change on the Fantom is to remove the bottom plate by undoing the screws, clips or levers, then cut off the old belt, remove the brushroll on the pulley side and place the new belt on the pulley side and replace the brushroll. Then use a belt puller or screwdriver with a hook on the end and then stretch the belt onto the motor pulley and then track the belt in a straight line. The replace the bottom plate and you should be fine. The recommended belt change on a vacuum with a flat belt is every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning and always use the genuine belts for the Fantom. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The only thing that I can think of if that the brushroll may have to be rebuilt and new bearings need to be installed on each end. If unrebuildable, then you need to purchase a new one but most are rebuildable. The other thing is to check the motor pulley to see if that spins freely as well. My old Hoover convertible will not lock in the upright position.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It sounds to me like you have a broken handle release lever and that would be inexpensive to fix or repair. You are either missing the spring or the handle release lever is broken. Feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Bissell Bagless Vacuum cleaner

There is no release, the part is a plastic handle release lever, you can find those at www.hesco.com, the cost is approximately 2.29 each, I have replaced more than 20 of these on the commercial vacuums for my cleaning crew, the part is easily broken and easily replaced. I always have 6 or more on hand.
Turn the vacuum over, remove the bottom plate, with a flat head screw driver punch out the old part. turn the vacuum upright again after the broken part is removed. With the body laying back on a hard surface, carefully push in the new part. Unfortunately, these are plastic, too bad they cannot design a more sturdy part for this.

Self propell feature not working

You can order the lever for the transmission on line for about $16.00. It comes as a cable and lever assembly. I just took the top cover off and replaced the lever without doing the cable. The reason ours broke is because we lifted the vacuum by the handle without the self propel bing turned off, this pulls on the actuator and breaks it.

Kirby G5 Transmisson

I know the lever you're describing, but it's very hard to tell someone how to put it back on. There's nothing wrong with your transmission, by the way, this is a part that's meant to be moveable, and it just happened to slip off in your case. You may call us at 1-866-509-1952, and we can do our best to help you.
